Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented SSL/TLS Certificate Manager to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, implementing, and maintaining SSL/TLS certificates, as well as overseeing external DNS and domain management, to ensure secure communications and data protection across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:


Certificate Management: Procure, deploy, and renew SSL/TLS certificates for web servers, applications, and other digital services. Maintain an accurate inventory of all SSL/TLS certificates and ensure timely renewals to avoid service interruptions. Monitor certificate expiry dates and proactively plan for renewals.


Security Compliance: Ensure that SSL/TLS configurations comply with industry standards and best practices. Conduct regular audits of SSL/TLS certificates to ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements. Stay updated with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and threats related to SSL/TLS.


Incident Response: Investigate and respond to security incidents involving SSL/TLS certificates. Perform root cause analysis of certificate-related issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.


DNS and Domain Management: Manage and maintain external DNS records and domain registrations. Ensure proper DNS configuration for optimal performance and security. Monitor domain expiration dates and handle timely renewals and registrations. Implement DNS security measures, such as DNSSEC to protect against DNS threats.


Collaboration and Training: Work closely with application support teams to integrate SSL/TLS certificates and DNS management into various systems and applications. Provide guidance and training to team members on SSL/TLS certificate management, DNS management, and best practices.


Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation of SSL/TLS certificate and DNS management processes, procedures, and policies. Create reports on certificate status, DNS configurations, and compliance for management review.


Qualifications:


Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).


Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in SSL/TLS certificate management, DNS management, IT security, or a related field.


Hands-on experience with SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle management, including procurement, deployment, renewal, and revocation.


Experience managing external DNS records and domain registrations, renewals and transfers.


Skills:


  • Strong understanding of SSL/TLS protocols, certificate authorities (CAs), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and DNS systems.
  • Proficiency in using SSL/TLS management tools and platforms.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and web servers (Apache, Nginx, IIS).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or equivalent are preferred.
