We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of  HR Change Adoption Lead

Location: Bangalore, Hyderabad or Gurgaon


The HR Change Adoption Lead, is responsible for developing & driving a change and implementation approach & plans into program mobilization, planning and run providing advice and guidance to program leadership and stakeholders. The role requires a deep understanding of the range of human reactions to change and ability to implement successful solutions to address the impacts. The role holder will be required to ensure the teams are engaged and appropriately resources and are delivering. 


Success for this role will require strong change implementation capability ensuring the key considerations for change and implementation are built into overall program mobilization. 


The role will directly report to the Head of HR Transformation Portfolio located in India and will functionally line up to the Global Head of Change Adoption based in UK.


Role Dimensions


  • Develop end to end change implementation plan and factor into program planning ensuring all considerations are built.
  • Reflect and account for key deployment considerations into program plans at a Business and Geography level, consolidating inputs from program stakeholders e.g., Sponsors, Director, Workstream Leads, Heads of Transformation and Service.
  • Manage delivery of change and engagement initiatives, including senior stakeholder engagement, inputs to group executive forums, interlock with HR communications, change impact assessments, change management, readiness planning, execution, and adoption / embedding plans.
  • Ensure deployment and readiness activities are captured and managed through program delivery – these may not be delivered directly through the change adoption team i.e., business cutover activities.
  • Build tracking mechanisms for benefits realization, identifying opportunities for additional and early realization of benefits, ensuring these are effective
  • Run and/or facilitating related change networks from initiation through to deployment and hypercare
  • Bring deep SME knowledge and proven experience of large-scale HR transformation across HR domains including process, platforms, and organisation design.
  • Create communications and engagement plans for global programmes driven by Group HR Transformation ensuring the interlocks across programmes are built into consideration.
  • Ensure alignment with Group HR Engagement plans & HSBC’s Global Communications strategy, themes and plan
  • Initiate the change through robust workshops ensuring representation of the key stakeholders and voice of the customer is incorporated in designing the vision, outcomes & success criteria.
  • Collaborate with other Change adoption leads & consultants across HR Transformation to continuously learn and apply best practices in how we implement the change initiative
  • Work with the Business as usual teams & local sponsors to get them ready for the change through a clear go/no go checkpoint process.
  • Facilitate stakeholders through decisions, consulting them, influencing them and resolving conflicts.
  • Drive the adoption of change standards and working in alignment with HSBC project methodology at all times.
  • Support Global Head of HR Change Adoption in any other change related activities relevant to the scope of Change across HR.

Principal responsibilities


The Change Adoption Lead will support our functions change programmes, to successfully define, deliver and embed change, helping HSBC achieve its strategic goals in the relevant global markets. The role is instrumental in supporting and driving the business to achieve benefits realisation and returns on their change investments, ensuring that our significant change programmes are considering all change aspects which will lead to a smooth implementation and transition to BAU. This will include identifying and mitigating key change adoption risks, and helping identify opportunities for early realisation of benefits


Change Adoption Leads will often play a people / team management role within the projects / programmes they work on, and may have line management responsibility for a group of more junior resources and may also indirectly manage a global team of change adoption network members.


The Change Adoption Lead will hold most or all these responsibilities:


  • Develop change solutions, designs or options that are focused on successful change embedding
  • Work with the programme team and sponsor to ensure change adoption is embedded with that programme.
  • Bring a focus to the programme on change adoption, business outcomes, and benefits management (including benefits reaslisation).
  • Develop change solution and designs / options that are focused on successful change embedding into the business.
  • Ensure that audience change impacts and reactions are analysed and change interventions identified to manage those impacts and reactions across HSBC
  • Promote a cultural mind-shift to including change adoption as a key success factor in achieving sustainable business outcomes.
  • Influence and manage stakeholders and sponsor relationships in leading the change and achieving the benefits
  • Identify and mitigate key Transformation change adoption risks
  • Identify opportunities for early realisation of benefits
  • Work across global and regional teams to ensure commonality of understanding of the change adoption value proposition and its role in delivering sustainable business outcomes.
  • Ensure mechanisms are in place for capturing and sharing lessons learnt and encourage re-use of successful change adoption tools and methods.
