Job Purpose
The Site GPS lead role exists to deploy and embed the GPS into a site to deliver the business strategy & improve business performance (Quality, Safety, Service, Cost & Innovation). As a key member of the site team (line report to the site Director), the site GPS lead is accountable for:
GPS being used to develop the capability of all site personnel to implement continuous
improvement mindset in their day-to-day activities
Helping to ensure these activities of continuous improvement are reflected in the site performance
towards the goal of zero accidents, defects & waste
To self-assess the site versus GPS maturity matrices & to support the site to close any gaps
identified
To coach / train sites’ teams on GPS standards & tools
To support regional GPS teams in any ‘turnaround deployment of GPS in their site
Education, Experience & Skills
Bachelors of Engineering, Business Graduate or D-Pharm
5-7 years of experience in similar role Area of Specialization Lean Sigma Area of Specialization Ideally Manufacturing / Engineering / Quality / Logistics based
Demonstrated delivery of improvements initiatives and/or culture change year on year resulting in both financial & non-financial benefits & behavioral changes
Key Responsibilities
Work with Site director & SLT to identify and agree on the GPS implementation in alignment with the
site strategy deployment
Drive site strategy process at site level
Lead day to day deployment of the GPS as well as all related improvement activities at site level
(business impact on safety, quality, cost, people & innovation)
Track progress of the site GPS deployment road-map and self-assess the site GPS maturity level.
Agree with regional team targets for improvement
Deploy the training & capability building plan as agreed by regional & local GPS network:
Support / Deliver the required training
Coach site teams to develop and sustain continuous improvement mindsets
Support continuous capability development of self and other GPS change agents /
practitioners based at the site, using standard training modules developed by GPS core team
and adapted by regional team (if required)
Role model GPS skills & behaviors
Support/ensure consistency of progress across site & region, share lessons learnt with the regional team
Member of the site leadership team and regional GPS network; play a key role in supporting the site directors manage the site
Prepare & lead GPS council at site
Benchmark site’s performance against other sites / companies
