About the job GENERAL MANAGER - CORPORATE PLANNING
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Our Client, a Karachi based company, seeks to appoint experienced professionals for the following role:
As the General Manager Corporate Planning, you will be at the forefront of the execution strategy, ensuring that the client's mission aligns seamlessly with measurable performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the immaculate execution of the client's financial and business plans, translating high-level strategies into actionable steps for all stakeholders
- Identify and proactively manage business risks through variance reporting, ensuring clarity and visibility to stakeholders accountable for the business
- Oversee the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), financial reports, and analysis to identify significant operational trends and recommend corrective actions. Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring budgets are in line with strategic objectives and financial goals
- Develop top-down level forecasts to achieve strategic plan commitments, with a focus on increasing returns
- Provide management with valuable forecast insights, performance metrics, and financial analytics for improved decision making
- Leading a team of dedicated professionals and nurturing a culture of innovation and excellence
- Build and nurture strong relationships with internal stakeholders, fostering cross-functional collaboration
- Cultivate relationships with external partners, industry experts, and government authorities to identify strategic opportunities
- Maintain a deep understanding of the energy value chain and its impact on the business. Assess the macroeconomic impact of energy policies and market trends on the company and the broader national economy
- Foster a productive liaison with relevant government ministries or authorities responsible for energy policy and regulation
Education
- Minimum 16 years of education, preferably Master's from a renowned HEC recognized university or institution / equivalent foreign degree holder institution, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics.
Experience
- Preferably 14-15 years of professional experience, in a large national/multinational organization with at least 5 years of related functional experience in a similar role at an equivalent position or in one level below position.
Requirements
- Proven experience in financial and business planning, risk management, and performance analysis
- Excellent leadership and strategic decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and resource optimization
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful corporate strategies
- In-depth knowledge of the energy value chain and energy-related policies
- Demonstrated experience in managing key stakeholders and government relationships
Age
- The candidate should be preferably not more than 50 years of age as of last date of submission of application.
