General Summary:


Job Overview


Qualcomm's in-house Snapdragon Game Studio is seeking a skilled 3D Modelling Artist with Unreal Engine and/or Unity experience to help create cutting edge game art assets that include Characters, props, vehicles for internal tech demos. This position works directly with our development team. Must have a solid understanding of materials, LODs, draw calls, occlusion, and optimization techniques.  


Minimum Qualifications


  • 7+ years’ experience modeling/texturing Characters, Hard Surfaces & Props in Maya, 3DS Max, or Blender on a shipped, mobile, VR, PC, or console game.
  • Demo reel for the previous work done is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of sculpting and 3D modeling techniques for photo realistic meshes & materials.
  • Work independently while collaborating with multiple disciplines.
  • Self-motivated and able to estimate task length and deliver polished assets on time.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Demonstratable experience within Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Strong grasp of lighting for games, both static & dynamic real-time.
  • Ability to create performant content for varying hardware specs.
  • Willingness to learn modern modelling tools within Unreal Engine & PCG workflow.
  • Metahuman workflow knowledge for games is a huge plus.
  • Speedtree, Marvelous tools knowledge is appreciated.
  • Ability to debug and optimize occlusion, draw calls, LODs & materials.
  • Experience working with multi-zonal teams.
  • Preferably at least one shipped title on any gaming platform.

Education Requirements


Preferred: A BFA or BA degree in art, design graphics, or have received equivalent on-the-job experience.


Minimum Qualifications:


•    Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Design Graphics, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of experience with relevant gaming art software (e.g., Zbrush, Maya, Blender) or related work experience.
OR
Associate's degree in Fine Arts, Design Graphics, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of experience with relevant gaming art software (e.g., Zbrush, Maya, Blender) or related work experience.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of experience with relevant gaming art software (e.g., Zbrush, Maya, Blender) or related work experience.
