Job Purpose
The Finance Manager – PEC, FA & BSR in Close & Control (C&C) is responsible for managing and overseeing the operation of Period End Close (PEC), Fixed Assets (FA) and Balance Sheet Reconciliations (BSR). The individual would ensure that all the tasks are completed timely and accurately in a strong control environment. The role helps to deliver the Finance vision of a “world class finance function recognized by industry, the profession and our people” which underpins the GSK vision.
Strong expertise with accounting concepts, processes and key controls, policies, reporting and budgeting principles to ensure correct application to financial statements. The role also needs to be able to accurately implement controls & compliance for audit and work closely with other finance and business stakeholders including internal and external auditors.
Education, Experience & Skills
Minimum 4 years of experience in month end and R2R and leading multi-disciplinary teams
Chartered Accountant / ACA / ACCA
Proficiency in SAP, Concur, Proficient within Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Key Responsibilities
Manage service delivery of Close and Control processes i.e. PEC, FA & BSR in scope and oversee routine operations and take lead in operational matters and issue resolution
Should be well versed with end-to-end Close & Control and/or process like Fixed Assets ((Movements & Reconciliation), Intercompany accounting, Master data management, Account Reconciliations (GL to Dub-Ledger), month end processing (period close), budgeting and forecasting.
Review Journals including but not limited to prepaid & accruals at month end, associated internal controls and checks and completion of month close schedule on time
Ensure month close and reporting process (review) is well established and documented
All accounts reconciliations are complete, and exceptions identified are resolved and recorded in the general ledger in the appropriate accounting period mainly Inventory, Debtors, Creditors, FA, Prepaids and Provisions.
Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met on time and with accuracy
Act as a primary point of contact for all the escalations related to process in scope and comply with the company’s polices/standards, and the local laws and regulations
Country specific knowledge of taxation (VAT and CIT) & accounting rules applicable particularly for country-to-country transition
Perform analysis for management review and decision making
Drive local process improvement initiatives and support global initiatives
Comply with and complete requests and ad hoc & other assignment from line manager
Perform review of all applicable controls (ICFW) to ensure compliance
