The Deliveroo Enterprise Platforms team conceives, designs, builds and sustains the business services powering Deliveroo’s internal teams globally, as we transform the way customers eat. We ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our platforms, enabling seamless integration with our enterprise tooling across various business units.  We continually drive service improvements and love to automate everything we can on our journey towards customer delight.  The Enterprise Platforms team is responsible for a wide range of platforms and tools including workflow automation platforms, robotic process automation, communication, collaborative work management, visual collaboration, productivity platforms and end-user compute.  


The Role


  • Lead a team of Software Engineers who work on building and maintaining Enterprise Platforms 
  • Collaborate closely with Enterprise Platforms Engineering Managers and EM peers across tech to align ways of working and ensure the consistent adoption of leading engineering practices 
  • Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders globally to ensure the timely and quality delivery of projects and initiatives in Enterprise Platforms 
  • Contribute to product strategy, set project and sprint goals, and ensure successful delivery 
  • Collaborate with the team to set standards, technical governance and engineering best practices 
  • Grow a diverse, accomplished team of engineers, who are experts in their domain 
  • Create a learning environment for the team and act as a mentor for engineers and growing technical leadership in the team 
  • Helping to build effective, visible and measured team processes that enable high velocity and superior engineering solutions 
  • Ensure continuous improvement and be an advocate for innovation, automation and the adoption of AI/genAI technologies 
  • Strive for collecting robust metrics, data, and monitoring information from your services, ensuring that if an issue arises, the team is alerted before our users notice.  Ensure the platform is maintained and upgraded regularly.  
  • Acting as an escalation point for production issues that may occur outside of standard working hours

About You


  • Experienced Engineering Manager, preferably for at least 2 years with experience of managing platforms such as ServiceNow, Workday, Atlassian products, Google and Slack 
  • Experience as a software engineer building enterprise products at pace 
  • Experience collaborating with managers, peers, and directs, with a mentality to encourage your team to improve their code
  • Experience growing and leading a high performing team 
  • Skilled in setting and assessing objectives and planning structured work for teams and routinely improving working practices
  • Skilled in coaching and mentoring teams and growing high performers 
  • Excellent ability to develop and write proposals and reports backed with analysed and visualised data
  • Passion for collaboration
