Job Title : EN-ER-03: EHI Lead Engineer
Purpose of the Job
- To guarantee the harnesses design and their routing integration inside the different products (traction system, electrical cubicle, power module & switchgear) by following the design rules, the respect of the product feasibility, the norms rules, and by the respect of the Alstom development process (DFQ)

- Integrated in a multi métier team for project or product.
- In permanent link with Advanced Industrialization, PME, Quality, Sourcing and Shop floor.
- In direct link with S&A designer, Customer (Rolling stock) and components suppliers, skill leaders, Mechanical designer, Power, Control Command, Thermal.
- Can be in link with central team on multi-sites and transversals activities (tools deployment, WoW sharing…)
External Interface: Customers, Suppliers, Subcontractors
Missions
Performance Measurement/KPI’s
- Closure of open points or escalation: 10 days maximum
- Compliance to Engineering WorkPackage (variation orders excluded): 100%
- Quality of his delivery (included sub-contractor delivery): 1st time quality rate > 90% (quality rate = modification validated OK / number of applied modification)
- Respect of the delivery planning (included sub-contractor delivery) = 100% on time delivery
- Application level of standard PPL = 100%
- Configuration management of his deliverables = 100% of deliverables properly managed into configuration database
- Respect of Cost allocation
Responsibilities
Accountable for :
- Performing 3D, design annotations and 2D deliverables in compliance with QCD commitments, Metier rules and processes.
- Modelling and storing allocated volumes and interfaces for sub-systems / components in Digital Mock-Up.
- Performing Detailed Design on internal sub-systems.
- Filling-up attributes for each part in Digital Mock-Up (naming, material, Fire & Smoke, etc.)
- Verifying consistency of digital mock-up (no clash, etc.) and compliance with requirements (allocated volumes, weight, interfaces, etc.) on assigned scope.
- Preparing and documenting Domain Design Reviews
- Updating Digital Mock-Up taking into account Change Requests.
- Checking CADs' and sub-contractor's Design Quality
- Realizing stack-up analysis.
- Realizing Bill of Material.
Responsible for :
- To guarantee the application of electrical and schematic métier rules
- To take into account the REX, the norms and the contract requirements into the deliverables
- To realize the deliverables by respecting the Alstom QCD and DFQ
- To realize the deliverables by taking account of the S&A and project inputs (CPS, WD, E BoM…)
- To integrate the linked métier requirements: Advanced Industrialization, Harness designer, EMC, and Maintainability
- To manage his activities by using a retro planning of his projects
- To create the 3D model (routing) of each harness by co-working with mechanical designer, manufacturing engineering, S&A designer.
- To be responsible of the detailed electrical harness design deliverables: BoM kit, formboards, BoM in ERP & DMA, wiring list, Plug Maps, instructions sheets, jig & tools lists…
- To manage the deliverables in order to launch the prototype on time and the good storage after the official release (DMA, GSI, TED, SEE ONE etc.…)
- To organize and to pilot the harness design deliverables reviews
- To organize and to pilot the NEO review (detailed phase) ad to participate to the NEO DR managed by S&A designer
- To guarantee the use of appropriate template
- To realize the deliverable by respecting the Alstom QCD and DFQ
- To Ensure the deliverables updates in case of modification (harnesses suppliers, intern or TT manufacturing…)
- To answer to the FQR and to solve the identified issues
- To manage the gaps in order to realize the retrofitting the harnesses.
- To create or to participate to the update of the knowledge guideline, transversal documents which the electrical domain is responsible (operator manuals, connectors mounting manuals…)
- To Ensure the terminal ends and the cabling expertise of the product/project
- Checking respect of Allocated volumes/interfaces (no-clashes) on internal design.
- Resolving Project issues in assigned zone.
- Respecting and/or allocating requirements and interfaces to Sub-Systems/equipment (Allocated volume, weight, location, 3PL, etc.)
- Analysing change request impacts on assigned zone and applying change if request accepted.
- Validating relevant Domain deliverables and securing planning.
Contributor for :
- Perform quotation of engineering work-package, upon request
- Defining Project Decomposition (PBS)
- Supporting Sourcing, Industrialization and Manufacturing teams during Production ramp-up.
- Collaborating with MDL for continuous improvement of the Domain (including RoE)

Knowledge & Experience
- Electrical harness design of Railway products with 5 years of experience.
- Good Communications and interpersonal skills including with third parties (customer).
- Time management and reporting skill.
- Sense of urgency / priority.
- Structured and organised with Hands-on approach.
- English operational in read/writing and technical meetings.
