DigitalOcean is expanding in Hyderabad, India. 

We are looking for a passionate technology leader with 15+ years of software development experience building scalable products to help us unlock innovation by enabling the developer community to build and scale their application using simple cloud tools. Reporting to the Senior, Vice President, the Director will be responsible for leading a set of cloud-based products independently and contributing to growth of the cloud-based products. With AI gaining further momentum, we believe that there is tremendous potential to disrupt the traditional cloud-based practices by focusing on helping developers build applications through simple to use cloud tools. 


What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Strategic Leadership: Lead a vertical team reporting to SVP, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy for Cloud products that you support. 
  • You will provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to nurture talent and foster a culture of innovation.
  • Technology Innovation and Collaboration: You will own development of key DigitalOcean capabilities and will be responsible for the research, engineering, maintenance, and operations of those Cloud products that you support. technologies. 
  • You will be collaborating with your peers to drive effective delivery of projects executed in India.
What You'll Add to DigitalOcean:
  • B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/Phd degree in computer science or related fields, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • Bring 15+ years of software engineering and product delivery experience, with strong background in algorithms and high-performance distributed systems. 5+ years of people management experience.

  • Experience owning a software area of strategic importance and significant impact
  • Experience establishing and manage scalable engineering team structures that create, correct, and evolve software that runs a segment of the business or customer experience
  • Experience establishing high-level vision and long-term direction. Ability to make a case for resourcing large software initiatives (spanning multiple years) and take on significantly difficult or endemic problems. 
  • Experience having a strategic focus yet retain an appropriate level of hands-on management. Ability to empower your managers and engineers to independently execute. You provide context and visibility into the reasons behind decisions made.
  • Ability to stay abreast of relevant development and innovation occurring both inside and outside the company and use that knowledge to inspire big ideas. 
  • Ability to drive best practices within teams and across own organization
  • Experience understanding the functionality, architecture, business drivers, and technologies behind the products and systems. Ability to prioritize efforts that improve the overall architecture, software quality, testability, maintainability, and efficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills is a requirement. Ability to communication and provide strategic inputs to Senior Leadership.
