Job Purpose
  • To develop new products and provide technical services to customers thereby contributing to the growth of the business.


Key Accountabilities
  • To develop and suitably tailor products to meet the needs of the customer to help sales department to achieve their targets.
  • To analyze production problems, provide prompt, accurate technical advice that assists the production department in avoiding the generation of substandard surplus material.
  • To carry out line trials on customer’s premises to gain business through approval of our products.  To troubleshoot any line problems and provide effective on-spot technical service and advice to ensure smooth running of customer’s line.

  • To develop and train staff to maximize their effectiveness and ensure that they are well informed, motivated, and trained in their job.
  • To carry out product reformulations for value creation and quality improvement independently and guide others. Have the ability to drive competitive advantage over competition through superior recipe development and process innovation to enhance business profitability.
  • To provide technical service to the customers & to solve the problems faced by the customers, either of paint or working conditions, very carefully to avoid any annoyance or loss of business
  • The job holder keeps himself abreast of the latest coatings technology in Pakistan and worldwide used by AkzoNobel or Competition, which enables him to provide up-to-date and effective guidance to the sales team.
  • To search and identify new materials, machines, technologies, and quality assurance techniques to remain competitive within the market.
  • Responsible for supporting and advising the production department in resolving problems of a technical nature to ensure a high standard of quality and smooth running of the plant.


Experience
  • Research professional with 10+ years of hands-on experience in Product Development, Quality Assurance, Process & Customer Services in the paints industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong relationship management with peers/superiors across various time zones, leadership, and organizational abilities.
  • Strong tendency to analyze complaints raised by the industrial sales department and take quick decisions to rectify the problem and to decide whether the fault is associated with the product or process. 
  • Self-starter, with a strong ability to conceptualize, develop, and implement new ideas, while maintaining objectivity and focus in the development and implementation of strategy.
  • Should have appropriate knowledge in identifying, collecting, processing, analyzing, and cataloging data according to established protocol, procedures & standards, as appropriate to specific objectivities of the research study.
  • Works effectively with co-workers and peers as a team player. Helps out colleagues in solving their problems.


Education
  • BS in Chemistry
