Job Purpose
The Demand Forecasting Manager is responsible for the development of a robust, un-biased and comprehensive sales forecast. Demand Forecasting Manager is responsible to bring clarity on the Sales Forecast KPIs, along with driving improvements in forecast accuracy for entire cluster and as a result secure improved customer service and lower working capital.
Accountability & autonomy in leading the Pre DRM/DRM & working directly with Market LT team and the GM/Country Manager of the market to understand R&Os and overall performance vs the business plan. Work in partnership with commercial, however ensure robust challenge of market assumptions leading to best possible forecast accuracy. Managing the team of Demand Forecasting Leads and understanding the performance, business, and KPIs for all the markets in the assigned scope of reporting.
Education, Experience & Skills
Bachelors or Master degree in Supply Chain
5-8 years of experience in Supply Chain Demand & Supply Planning.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English, and preferably fluency in one or more additional languages appropriate to the Region covered by the Demand Forecasting team.
Highly numerate with knowledge of supply chain forecasting systems, ideally SAP APO, and processes
Strong planning ability & drive performance by delegation & leadership
Key Responsibilities
Operates the volume forecasting process within the Supply Chain Operating Model supporting the Core Commercial Cycle (CCC) for the entire assigned cluster/area.
Chair/facilitate monthly Pre-Demand Review Meeting (PDRM) and Demand Review Meeting (DRM) to achieve consensus forecast with Senior LT
Support direct team in their PreDRM & DRM meetings by liasoning with Commercial GMs and managing escalations.
Responsible to drive improvements in Sales forecast accuracy, bias, W/O & working capital and customer service.
Working closely with Supply Hub to ensure continuity in supply and minimize OOS or excess inventory. Lead robust constraint management process for the entire cluster/area, demonstrating clearly the impact of supply gaps and risks to market sales target.
Responsible to manage a comprehensive & bottom-up volume forecast via aligning the input from LOC/Distributor Managers on NPIs, Competitor activity and Tenders to ensure proper production planning is in place.
Prepares forecast inputs into the key Core Commercial Cycle (CCC) meetings including Demand Review, feeding through to Supply Review and regional S&OP meetings.
Promotes a ‘one number’ mindset to drive business decision-making and forecast transparency / functional accountability.
Responsible to lead & manage the triangulation of Risks & Opportunities among market and regional stakeholders.
Skilled in volume baseline concepts, monitoring sales trend & outliers, coupled with understanding the value add of market intelligence.
Contributes to strategic global and regional projects that will use demand forecasting as a lever to unlock further benefits in GSK's supply chain including Inventory Reduction, ERP, Supply Chain Transformation & Effectiveness etc.
Acting as a business partner to commercial & finance LT for the entire cluster
Quick decision making + reporting clear & transparent narrative for the entire cluster
Responsible for managing the input for PEM S&OP and MPR
Team management & leading the team to set demand fundamentals in place, work on team capability & development, succession planning, and creating a highly effective team.
Support in the creation and maintenance of Demand SOPs, training the demand forecasting leads, and data upkeep for the entire cluster.
Building robust WoW, improvement plans, KPI effectiveness and stability, taking clusters to advanced maturity levels
