We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Lead Consultant Specialist  

In this role you will:

• The head of cryptographic agility and quantum readiness reports to the head of cryptography
• The role will be to handle two critical aspects of creating cryptography platforms for the future.

Cryptographic Agility

• Cryptographic agility is a function to allow for migration and improvement to cryptographic fundamentals such as algorithms, protocols and techniques
• Cryptographic agility will be a fundamental to readiness for dealing with threats to cryptography posed by quantum computing.
• Agility will need to be embedded and managed in any system across HSBC relying on cryptography.

Quantum readiness

• Quantum computing will fundamentally change cryptography across all industries and technologies. HSBC is working to be ready to predict, and respond to the necessary changes.
• Understanding both new algorithms and how to make migration to using those new algorithms will be a dynamic challenge
• Embedding the new algorithms into both legacy and new systems means HSBC can move to being quantum ready
