Job Description

Kaizen is seeking a Chief of Party (COP) for the USAID/She Leads Pakistan Rises activity, (SLPRA). The SLPRA will increase women’s participation in Pakistan’s economy by supporting women-led businesses (WLBs), including start-ups and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME). The activity will achieve this through four mutually reinforcing objectives that aim to address underlying root causes obstructing WLBs from progressing.
The objectives of SLPRA are:
Objective 1: Strengthen business enabling environment for women-led businesses
Objective 2: Improved Access to Economic Resources
  • Increased Access to Capital
  • Improved business performance, climate resilience and adaptation, and supply chain linkages
  • Increased access to markets and reduced gender digital divide
Objective 3: Strengthen startups ecosystem
Objective 4: Supporting Pakistan’s response to economic shocks and opportunities
Responsibilities
The COP assumes responsibility for the submission of all acceptable deliverables. The COP will
recruit and manage a team of local/international technical experts to ensure the submission of
high quality deliverables and the successful implementation of the Scope of Work. The COP will
also provide strategic guidance and leadership related to the planning, management, and task
order implementation, including oversight of all aspects of the project’s performance. The COP
will also oversee the performance of the sub awardees/ Grantees, ensuring timely progress
against schedules, achievement of deliverables, and quality of results. The COP will serve as the
task order’s principal contact person for USAID, adjusting operations in response to the TOCOR’s
technical direction. The COP will also serve as the main contact for local stakeholders, including
civil society, government, private sector, and donor counterparts, when appropriate. The COP
will possess strong intellectual, leadership and management skills, with a background in small
and medium enterprise development (preferably women-led businesses), grants and
investment fund management.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years senior management level experience in SME development/ women led businesses, investment fund, or other related field.
  • Demonstrated relevant experience within an international development context, and a demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relations with international organizations; US Government agencies; and NGO partners, private sector partners, impact investors, and host country governments (including senior government officials) in low- and middle-income countries; 
  • Masters degree in business, finance, public administration, international development, enterprise development trade or other related discipline.
  • Experience working with women-led businesses to grow and gain access to funding and supporting government in creating enabling environment for women-led business,
  • Experience in strategic planning and ability to use innovative approaches to solve complex problems,
  • Fluency in English oral and written communication.
