Your New Role:
As a Residuals Associate Developer, you will be responsible fordeveloping, maintaining, and troubleshooting applications used for calculating and processing residuals. You’ll work under the guidance of senior developers while gaining exposure to backend development, APIs, and database systems. You will collaborate with senior developers, QA teams, and business analysts to ensure seamless application functionality and system enhancements.
Your Role Accountabilities:
Application Development and Enhancements
Assist in developing, testing, and maintainingresiduals applications using Java, Spring Boot, and other backend technologies.
Collaborate with senior developers to implement new features and enhance system functionality.
Write efficient, clean, and well-documented code while adhering to coding standards.
Perform basic testing and debugging tasks to ensure application reliability.
Application Support
Monitor and maintain the health and performance of residuals applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve application bugs, data inconsistencies, and system outages.
Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions to minimize recurring issues.
Test
Work closely with team members, business analysts, and QA teams to understand project requirements and deliverables.
Write and execute unit tests – both manual and automated tests
Perform integration testing and debugging
Provide timely updates on progress and escalate challenges to the appropriate stakeholders.
Learning & Improvement
Learn about residuals management workflows, guild agreements, and payment processing systems.
Stay updated with new tools, frameworks, and technologies in backend development.
Actively participate in training sessions and mentorship opportunities provided by the team.
Attend in-person/online-trainings/conferences to improve skills
Qualifications & Experiences:
1-2 years of experience in Java development with advanced knowledge of Java 8+, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Hibernate. (media, entertainment, business development or streaming services industry experience a plus)
1-2years of production support or software development experience in building software applications using Java, DB2 and AWS
1-2 years of hands-on implementation or operational experience with Residuals and/or Music Royalty payments
Strong Hands-on experience with relational databases (DB2, Oracle) and writing SQL queries
Handson experience in developing solutions on AWScloud platforms
Experience with messaging systems AWS SQS and RESTful APIs.
Experience with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies and version control systems such as Git and CICD pipelines
Understanding of Software development life cycles, including design, development, testing and deployment
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Certifications in Java or AWS is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication
Work collaboratively w/small teams
Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently
