The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is the academic department of the University to support wide range in-patient and outpatient women’s healthcare services pertinent to general obstetrics and gynaeoclogy, lactation consultancy, family planning and parenting education. In addition to the core services, department also caters to wide range of specialized services such as Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogyneoclogy and Pediatrics & Adolescent gynaeoclogy. The department also offers formal post graduate training programs of residency and fellowship in Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Urogynecology and Gynecologic Oncology.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Associate in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.


Responsibilities


You will be responsible to:


·assist in arranging special lectures, grand rounds, scheduling speakers, coordinating presentations


·assist in organizing departmental events such as courses, workshops, symposia, conferences


·ensure that content is creative, accurate and aligned with the University’s and MC’s overarching messaging


·update departmental academic profile of faculty members


·update departmental academic events database


·compile annual report of all the departmental academic programs under the guidance of Program Directors and ensures timely submission to Chair’s office


·facilitate proof reading of material from the Chair’s office (e.g., presentations, strategic documents, concept notes, etc.)


·co-host workshops for faculty, staff, and residents on ‘writing skill development


·maintain Research Newsletter of the department


·perform any other task by the Chairperson and the Assistant Manager (Academics).


Requirements


You should have:


·a minimum of bachelor’s degree; master's in communications, Journalism or a related discipline will be preferred


·at least two to three years of related professional experience in organizing departmental events 


·      outstanding writing abilities to generate clear and impactful content for report


·experience in higher education or health care sector is highly desirable


·demonstrated interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various internal and external clients and stakeholders


·ability to be proactive, self-driven and capable of working independently, as well as in a team-oriented environment


·ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and adhere to strict deadlines.
