Associate, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Introduction: 


The Aga Khan University was founded in 1983 as Pakistan’s first private university, Aga Khan University is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. Starting in 2000, the University expanded to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom and Afghanistan. AKU began life as a health-sciences university.


The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is the academic department of the University to support wide range in-patient and outpatient women’s healthcare services pertinent to general obstetrics and gynaeoclogy, lactation consultancy, family planning and parenting education. In addition to the core services, department also caters to wide range of specialized services such as Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogyneoclogy and Pediatrics & Adolescent gynaeoclogy. The department also offers formal post graduate training programs of residency and fellowship in Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Urogynecology and Gynecologic Oncology.


Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Associate in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.


Responsibilities:


You will be responsible to:


  • prepare drafts of memos, letters, presentations, education material, and reports on routine and ad hoc activities of the department
  • assist Vice Chair Education in the documentation & maintaining progress report of the academic programs of the department
  • assist Director Secondary Care Program ObGyn for the smooth running of the process at the four secondary care campuses which includes faculty appraisal and the appointment process
  • assist secondary care faculty members for their credentialing matters and submission of OPPE reports
  • prepare and compile annual report for the vice chair education and the director of secondary care for chair review & for the JCIA/ ISO survey
  • assist Director fellowship, faculty and fellows of the program which includes assisting for the academic session & events of the section
  • maintain biographical information of all fellows and update alumni information
  • assist in organizing departmental events which include an annual day, courses, workshop, and symposium for the department.

Requirements:


You should have:


  • a Bachelor's degree, preferably a Masters degree from a recognized institution
  • at least three years’ of relevant work experience
  • proficiency in use of standard office software and applications
  • ability to handle stressful situations and multi-task, ensuring that stringent deadlines are timely met
  • excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
  • fluency in written and spoken English.
