Associate,  Department of Community Health Sciences


Location: Karachi

The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality, and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of five major operational sections: Epidemiology & biostatistics, Health policy & management, Population & reproductive health, Environmental health & climate change, and non-communicable diseases & mental health.
This is a grant-funded contractual position.
Job Role / Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to:
  • assist in planning, organizing, and managing research activities and timelines
  • support in the development and implementation of operational processes and procedures
  • ensure timely communication and information flow across relevant teams and stakeholders
  • monitor research project progress and assist in preparing progress reports
  • organize meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and recording minutes
  • manage project logistics, including procurement and inventory of materials and supplies
  • prepare and submit regulatory applications in consultation with the project lead for approvals from the Ethical Review Committee (ERC), Institutional Review Board (IRB), and National Bioethics Committees (NBCs)
  • prepare materials for conferences, workshops, and other dissemination activities
  • support training sessions or workshops related to the research project
  • perform other duties as assigned by the principal investigator (PI) or research supervisor.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
You should have:
  • a minimum bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field
  • at least two years of relevant experience in administrative work
  • good networking and interpersonal skills
  • resilience and the ability to cope with work pressure
  • the capability to manage a team, work independently, and take initiative
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • proficiency in computers, especially MS Office.
