Introduction


The Aga Khan University was founded in 1983 as Pakistan’s first private university, Aga Khan University is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. Starting in 2000, the University expanded to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom and Afghanistan. AKU began life as a health-sciences university.


The Department of Anaesthesiology at Aga Khan University is committed to providing clinical excellence in perioperative care as well as the training of future anaesthesiologists. Our team of trained and well-experienced anesthesiologists aims to provide best possible patient care not only in the operation theatres but also beyond it. With current 35 clinical faculty our department is one of the biggest Anaesthesia department in country, our faculty is also involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education and our programs are recognized at national and international level.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Associate in the Department of Anaesthesiology. 


Job Role / Responsibilities:


You will be responsible for:


  • providing comprehensive administrative support to the Chair's office, managing the Chair's daily schedule, correspondences, and communication
  • managing all aspects of travel (hotel reservations, transport and other administrative and related matters) of the Chair & assigned faculty
  • preparing & filing letters, memos, meeting minutes and other ad-hoc correspondence
  • assisting faculties in organizing events such as academic activities, courses, symposiums, workshops & webinars
  • maintaining all office equipment (computers, telephone, etc.) in working condition and be responsible for lodging and following up complaints with concerned departments
  • coordinating with other departments such asIT, HR and Finance to resolve day to day issues
  • timely renewal of all faculty documents such as PMDC and credentialing
  • enrolling faculty and Medical Officers in trainings like ACLS, BLS, PALS before their certificate expiry
  • preparing presentation / posters for faculty research presentations
  • maintaining file record for faculty for CME and Joint Commission International (JCI).

Eligibility Criteria /Requirements:


You should have:


  • a minimum of Bachelors degree, master’s will be preferred 
  • at least two years of related work experience
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including spoken and written English
  • proficiency in the use of MS office applications
  • excellent organization capabilities and ability to handle diverse set of tasks
  • ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
