Job Purpose
  • To deliver set targets for new product development, product improvement, value creation, alternate raw materials, scale-up process, complaint handling, and other technical support with guidance from Development Managers or the Category head for Pakistan in the area of wall paint segment. This also includes support for all the manufacturing. This role would be responsible for >50 product formulations, accountable for 30% of product volume/revenue for the Pakistan Decorative business.


Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure delivery of NPI, VE, Alternate RM Plan
  • Laisse with Plant and Marketing for Product Trials of NPD, VE/Alternate RM, etc.
  • Tracking of Product quality through Benchmarking process against major competition to ensure product performance superiority or equality.
  • Adherence to test protocols (Local/Regional and Global).
  • Compliance with HSE protocols and processes 
  • Closely working with Regional RD&I for recipe formulation and implementation
  • To meet stakeholders' needs, take individual responsibility for new product development and renovation, and contribute to OTIFQ's achievement of project deliverables.
  • Visit the Customer complaints site and provide adequate solutions to the problem.
  • Accurate preparation and recording of experimental work with clear and concise presentation of key project conclusions, recommendations & risks to key project and product stakeholders. 
  • Evaluation and implementation of new/alternate raw materials, compliance with the Global Raw Material approval process.
  • Benchmarking of AkzoNobel products with Local and Global equivalents. Create and sustain competitive advantage.
  • Recipe Management using Product Vision Software & SAP.
  • HSE&S: Assist the Lab Manager in ensuring safe working conditions consistent with global HSE&S & Sustainability policies.
  • Support Manufacturing during new product introduction, renovations, or any issues related to the processing of product


Experience
  • 4-7 years of laboratory work in decorative paints 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills
  • Good practical, analytical, and laboratory skill
  • Tenacity– Ability to accommodate changing business needs through enduring efforts
  • Willing to travel across Pakistan on short notice


Education
  • Minimum B.Sc. Hons in Chemistry
