Introduction
The Department of Paediatrics and Child Health is committed to providing state-of-the-art clinical services to children. It imparts high quality undergraduate and postgraduate training and subspecialty trainings and research opportunities. Besides the outpatient clinics, the inpatient set-up consists of a paediatric ward with two units comprising of 84 beds, a state of art Neonatal Intensive care unit with latest equipment and protocols in place and a capacity of 24 high acuity beds with one is to one staffing along with 10 bedded level 2 care monitored cots. The Neonatal section offers a 2-year Neonatal fellowship training and is one the oldest and established fellowship program with 6 fellows. In addition to care for sick babies, the section also provides services along with Pediatric consultants to the Well baby in the post-natal wards.

Responsibilities
You will be expected to provide overall administrative support in the department activities. Specific responsibilities include to:
- review all project protocols and data collection tools to ensure that collected data meet project’s needs, statistical and scientific requirements
- provides support for data presentation for publication of research studies results
- keep close liaison with project supervisors, principal investigators and departmental head
- ensures the integrity of research projects data and provide supervision for data quality assurance;
- assist data management staff in the design of study databases. As needed, review study database structures and data management project conventions
- coordinate with other research sections to assess their data management requirements and, plan and execute accordingly
- provide Support in statistical workshops/seminars
- writes programs to select, retrieve, edit, and analyse data
- develop strategic plan of data management for Electronic Data Capturing (EDC) to lead the transition from paper based entry to EDC and will plan and mobilize resources for it
- design questionnaires and programming in consultation with project supervisors
- analyze research data and generate reports accordingly
- responsible for developing new programs and proofing the program to develop needed changes to assure production of a quality program.
- overall supervise all the research projects’ data entries and the quality of data at the Data Management Unit and at all the research field sites of the division, and ensure that all data is safely stored at Data Storage places and properly retrievable as per the requirements
- supervise and develop data management team, including continuous coaching of juniors for capacity development
Requirements
You should have:
- Master’s in computer sciences or equivalent with professional level courses and certifications in IT
- at least three years of diverse corporate experience with at least one years of data management experience at senior level preferably in healthcare or research organization of good repute
- excellent knowledge of databases and computer programming (SQL, Visual Basic)
- comprehensive knowledge of modern tools and techniques for research data management
- have sufficient knowledge of statistics, analytical approach to the research data
- having experience in statistical softwares i.e. SPSS, Stata & SAS etc.
- excellent project management skills including ability to lead work force and manage resources effectively
- strong management and supervision skills
- excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to present complex ideas and information in clear and meaningful form to various stakeholders
- excellent ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under work pressure
- willingness for extensive travelling nationally and internationally, including deputation there as well, and travelling to data management units at various field sites for monitoring and supervision.
