What is Application Maintenance Engineer?
As a Maintenance Engineer (Node.js & System Support) at Jazz, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of critical systems. In addition to performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and system optimization, you will also contribute to debugging and enhancing Node.js applications. You will work closely with development, DevOps, and IT support teams to proactively resolve technical issues and improve system reliability.
What is Application Maintenance Engineer does?
System Maintenance & Support:
• Routine System Maintenance: Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades to keep infrastructure secure and up to date.
• Issue Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve software and hardware issues, focusing on minimizing downtime and optimizing system performance.
• System Monitoring & Optimization: Use ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Nagios, Zabbix, or Datadog to monitor system health and proactively address performance bottlenecks.
• Collaboration with Support Teams: Work closely with development, DevOps, and IT teams to identify and resolve ongoing technical issues.
• Documentation: Maintain clear documentation on system configurations, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Node.js Development & Debugging:
• Application Maintenance & Debugging: Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Node.js-based applications running in production.
• Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks in Node.js services and improve response times.
• API & Server Maintenance: Ensure the reliability of RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Cloud & Containerization Support: Work with AWS, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes for deployment and scaling of Node.js applications.
• Automation & AI Tools (Preferred): Exposure to AI-driven monitoring, automated testing, and DevSecOps is a plus.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in system maintenance, troubleshooting, and backend support.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js for debugging and optimizing backend applications.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Datadog, ELK Stack).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is a plus.
Skills Required:
• Node.js Debugging & Optimization: Ability to analyze and fix performance issues in backend services.
• System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proficiency with monitoring tools and log analysis.
• Cloud & DevOps Knowledge: Understanding of cloud environments, automation, and containerization.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Time Management: Ability to balance maintenance tasks and urgent troubleshooting efficiently.
• Communication: Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and document technical issues effectively
