Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Apigee API Management Consultant with over 6 years of expertise in Apigee Edge and Apigee X platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong business and technical acumen in API design, development, exception handling, and implementation strategies. This role requires hands-on experience in developing API proxies, reusable shared flows, and security frameworks while leading technical teams through multi-phased delivery projects.
Must-Have Skills (Mandatory)
- 6+ years of experience in API Management with Apigee Edge and Apigee X.
- Strong expertise in designing API proxies, API products, portals, apps, and administrative tasks (KVM, caches, flow hooks, TLS keystore updates, user roles, virtual hosts setup).
- Experience in developing and maintaining API proxies based on consumer needs, including enhancing existing APIs.
- Hands-on experience in building reusable shared flows for security, transformation, logging, and error handling.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs/RESTful Web Services and API development best practices.
- Experience conducting requirements gathering workshops and leading solution design processes.
- Ability to guide and mentor technical teams through complex multi-phased delivery projects.
- Knowledge of software development processes and tools for testing & troubleshooting APIs (e.g., Postman).
Good-to-Have Skills (Optional)
- Experience with Google Stackdriver for monitoring and logging.
- Exposure to Code, Configuration, and Build management tools such as GIT and Jenkins.
- Experience identifying risks and pain points in projects and implementing mitigation measures.
- Prior experience mentoring and training internal teams on API design and architecture best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in API Management and Apigee platform solutions.
