The role:

STARZPLAY is seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant to join our finance team in Lahore, Pakistan office. As an AP Accountant for the Group, you will play a critical role in managing the Group’s AP processing and working closing with the team in UAE. Your attention to detail, organization, and financial expertise will contribute to the efficient functioning of our financial operations.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Invoice Processing:

• Review and verify invoices, bills, and purchase orders for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
• Ensure timely and accurate data entry of invoices into the accounting system.

1. Payment Processing:

• Prepare and process payment runs, which may include checks, electronic payments, and wire transfers.
• Schedule payments in accordance with vendor terms and payment deadlines.

1. Vendor Management:

• Maintain relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and resolving discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
• Verify vendor statements and reconcile discrepancies as needed.

1. Account Reconciliation:

• Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger with the general ledger regularly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

1. Month-End and Reporting:

• Assist in month-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Prepare AP-related reports and provide data for financial analysis as required.
• Cash and bank reconciliation

1. Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations in all AP processes.
• Maintain organized and accurate records and documentation of all AP transactions.

1. Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.
• Recommend and implement process enhancements or automation when feasible.

Qualifications and requirements:   

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, with relevant experience
• Minimum of 2-3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Experience working with MNCs and coordinating with team in other regions
• Knowledge of financial regulations, internal controls, and GAAP.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.
• Familiarity with financial and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, 365 Dynamics, SAP) is a plus.
