About the team
You will have the chance to be part of the Vertical accounting function which provides accounting and controllership guidance to all Careem Verticals, you'll get a chance to be involved in different financial processes and develop strong analytical skills.
What you'll do
Financial Reporting:
- Lead the financial reporting responsibilities for Careem’s B2B business.
- Oversee monthly financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide sensitive financial data to key stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Management:
- Manage the AP and AR functions for four markets across various clients and suppliers.
- Perform timely reconciliation of accounts, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Communicate effectively with clients and suppliers to resolve any discrepancies.
- Issue invoices and create Credit and Debit notes as required.
Support Business Teams:
- Assist the business team with any finance and accounting-related activities.
- Provide financial insights and support to enhance business decision-making processes.
Tax Compliance:
- Work closely with the tax team to ensure all invoices issued to and from the business are VAT compliant in the four markets.
- Stay updated on VAT regulations and ensure adherence to all relevant tax laws.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) with a specialization in Accounting.
- Professional qualification from an accounting body (e.g., ACCA, ICAEW, etc.).
- Work experience of 3-5 Years
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing financial reporting, AP, and AR processes.
- Strong understanding of VAT compliance and regulations in multiple markets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion
- Proficient in Excel
