Job Description

Bestax Accountants, a Toronto & Dubai-based accounting firm, is looking for a highly skilled Accountant & Bookkeeper to join our Lahore office. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS & IAS) and a basic understanding of tax regulations in Dubai, Canada, and Pakistan.


The ideal candidate should be proficient in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax compliance while working with clients from multiple jurisdictions.


Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with IFRS and IAS.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for clients.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, ledger adjustments, and financial analysis.
  • Assist in cash flow management and budgeting.
Bookkeeping & Record Keeping:
  • Record daily transactions, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Ensure proper classification of expenses and revenues.
  • Process accounts payable & receivable and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.
Tax Compliance & Regulations:
  • Have a basic understanding of UAE VAT laws, Canadian tax regulations, and Pakistani tax laws.
  • Assist in VAT, GST/HST, and corporate tax filings for relevant jurisdictions.
  • Ensure tax deductions, compliance, and reporting are done accurately.
  • Support in tax audits and CRA, FTA, and FBR correspondence.
Software & Tools Proficiency:
  • Work with QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Zoho Books for accounting and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with automated accounting and tax software used in different jurisdictions.
  • Stay up to date with digital accounting tools to improve efficiency.
Client & Team Collaboration:
  • Communicate with clients to resolve financial and tax-related queries.
  • Work closely with the finance team in Dubai, Canada, and Pakistan.
  • Assist senior accountants in financial planning, analysis, and internal audits.

RequirementsRequirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or ACCA/CA/CPA.
  • 3+ years of accounting & bookkeeping experience (preferably in international firms).
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, IAS, and financial reporting standards.
  • Basic understanding of tax laws in Dubai, Canada, and Pakistan.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Zoho Books.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent English communication (written & verbal) skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Nice to Have:


  • Prior experience working with Canadian or UAE clients.
  • Knowledge of corporate tax filings and VAT compliance in different jurisdictions.
  • Familiarity with tax software for Canada, UAE, and Pakistan.
