Execute the activities and processes associated withPiping Engineer in SFR Project. Apply and expand hands-on experience in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, commissioning, and Operation of Piping in oil & gas industry. Responsible for supporting and execute general engineering activities directly linked to Piping Engineering and manage EPC Contractor Deliverables.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
• Manage all mechanical piping engineering activities.
• Review and approve all EPC Contractors or consultant mechanical design.
• Assuring that work and project promises are successfully delivered and appropriate reviews have been conducted.
• Apply Mechanical Engineering (Piping) practices, standards, and design codes.
• Participate in discussions with Asset Owners and Contractor to assist the scope of work and project execution strategy.
• Challenge the project design assumptions and strive to bring more values to the project.
• Provide innovative solutions to overcome project challenges including cost and schedule while still maintaining compliance to the design codes.
• Compile information from contractor reports; evaluate and analyze compiled information using Piping Engineering standards and codes.
• Provide directions and actively participate in the engineering reviews and meetings and take lead when required.
• Contribute to record the meetings and discussions.
• Prepare responses to Contractor clarifications.
• Follow up on the turnover of the Piping engineering documents.
• Other relevant duties as requested from time to time.
• Tasks and responsibilities as per the definition of the PMC contract of this position
· Bachelor's degree or above in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
· At least 12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including at least 8 years of experience in pipeline design and construction.
· Experience in international engineering projects, with a thorough understanding of international project management standards and regulations.
· Ability to perform pipeline design according to industry standards (e.g., API-5L, ASME B31.4, B31.8, B31.3), including sizing, flow modeling, and welding procedure specification.
· Strong pipeline project management skills, with expertise in route selection, topographic surveys, material selection, wall thickness calculations, design code development, and pipeline location table development.
· Proficient in using engineering software for pipeline system design, analysis, and installation, and able to review and manage various engineering drawings.
· Experience in implementing pipeline testing and inspection procedures, with a deep understanding of the various stages, milestones, and deliverables of pipeline projects.
· Experience in a similar position, able to independently lead teams, coordinate multiple resources, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.
· Strong communication, leadership, and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
· Fluent in English for business communication; Arabic language skills are a plus.
Strong sense of responsibility and dedication, able to model adherence to the management requirements of the Oman client and the relevant management systems of HQC-Abu Dhabi.
