CHANEL, founded by Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel in 1910, is a renowned French luxury house known for its timeless elegance and innovative designs. It has significantly influenced fashion with the classic CHANEL suit and the little black dress, and excels in watches, fine jewelry and fragrance and beauty products.
CHANEL TECH_ invests in providing luxury products and experiences to clients, and advanced technologies to enhance employee and partner productivity.
Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) designs and delivers infrastructure services to Chanel entities, ensuring seamless governance and efficient service delivery. GIS Business Partners act as "proxy CTOs" for Divisions and Corporate, overseeing infrastructure-related projects such as setting up new business services and implementing new technologies. Project managers ensure the successful delivery of these projects.
The IT Infrastructure Project Management Officer (PMO) reports directly to the Infrastructure Business Partner and plays a key role in managing the Infrastructure Project Managers Team and their activities. The main mission is to coordinate with the GIS Project Manager Team and provide a comprehensive view of project activities.
There are four main types of projects:
Real Estate and Industrial: Setting up local infrastructures for real estate and industrial applications.
Digital and Retail: Implementing infrastructures for digital applications and new services in boutiques.
Enterprise Core Processes: Supporting backbone processes like ERP, Finance, HR, and Legal.
Data and Innovation: Managing data and implementing innovative solutions like Artificial Intelligence.
Also, IT for IT projects (e.g., set up of new Network services, Infrastructure renewal, etc.) are becoming increasingly complex, requiring more transversal coordination from Project Managers. The PMO helps improve the maturity and quality of Project Management activities and communicates about these activities.
