Job Description

A Reputable Company located in Nigeria is seeking to recruit a Site Civil Engineer.

Main Duties : 

  • Oversee civil works at the site, including foundations, trenches, access roads, drainage systems, and any other relevant infrastructure.
  • Ensure that all civil works are carried out in compliance with project drawings, specifications, and applicable codes/standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project timelines and report progress, delays, or issues to the project manager.
  • Ensure that materials used on-site meet quality standards and project specifications.
  • Perform quality inspections of construction work and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Manage third-party inspections, tests, and reviews as required.
  • Ensure that corrective actions are implemented if non-compliance or defects are identified.
  • Maintain daily records of work activities, manpower, and materials used on-site.
  • Prepare technical reports and progress reports for site meetings.
  • Review civil designs, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with site health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ensure risk assessments are carried out for all civil engineering works.
  • Manage civil works subcontractors and ensure they meet the required performance and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for timely delivery of construction materials.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or any related field. 
  • 6+ years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 3 years in solar plant construction or renewable energy projects.
  • Proven experience in managing civil works on large-scale construction sites.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering software (AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, etc.).
  • Familiarity with solar farm layouts, ground-mount systems, and trenching for electrical systems is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices for civil works in solar projects.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Fluent in French.
