Position Summary:
The System Administrator with Access Management Specialization plays a critical role in managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure while ensuring secure and efficient user access to systems, applications, and data. This role is focused on access management processes, identity lifecycle management, and maintaining compliance with security policies.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration:
1. Infrastructure Management:
o Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot servers, storage, and cloud environments (on-premises or cloud-based).
o Perform software and hardware updates for systems, ensuring optimal functionality and security.
o Monitor system health and performance, and ensure high availability and reliability.
2. Security and Compliance:
o Implement security policies and protocols across systems.
o Conduct regular system audits and reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
3. Backup and Recovery:
o Develop and maintain backup strategies for critical data and systems.
o Execute disaster recovery plans and troubleshoot system failures as needed.
Access Management:
1. Identity and Access Lifecycle:
o Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions for systems, applications, and databases.
o Onboard/offboard users in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
o Facilitate provisioning and de-provisioning of system access.
2. Authentication and Authorization:
o Configure and maintain Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and role-based access controls (RBAC).
o Ensure secure access for internal and external users while minimizing risks.
3. Access Policies:
o Design and implement policies for access control (e.g., least privilege principles).
o Regularly review and update access policies to align with evolving security requirements.
Incident Management:
1. Investigate and respond to access-related security incidents.
2. Resolve access issues promptly, minimizing disruption to users.
Collaboration and Support:
1. Work closely with IT teams, security teams, and business stakeholders to address access requirements and optimize workflows.
2. Provide end-user support for authentication and access-related issues.
3. Deliver training and documentation for users on access protocols and systems.
Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Experience:
• Proven experience in system administration roles.
• Strong expertise in access management technologies (e.g., Active Directory, Azure AD, IAM systems).
Skills:
1. Technical Skills:
Proficiency in server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
Knowledge of authentication protocols (e.g., LDAP, Kerberos, OAuth).
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
2. Analytical and Problem-Solving:
o Ability to diagnose and resolve access-related issues quickly and efficiently.
o Capability to analyze access data and identify potential risks.
3. Communication:
o Effective verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
4. Organizational Skills:
o Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
o Familiarity with access management workflows and ticketing systems.
