The Immunology Discovery Department at AbbVie is seeking a highly motivated and innovative candidate for the role of Scientist II within the Immune Tolerance Therapeutics Discovery team based in Cambridge, MA. The successful candidate for this position will be a technical expert in their field and will play a critical role in supporting various in vivo and in vitro preclinical studies with emphasis on mechanisms of tissue-resident T cells in immune tolerance and autoimmune disease. They will be required to work independently on a variety of in vivo animal models to better understand TRM cell biology and characterize and evaluate biological compounds. This individual will have a strong background in scientific research, with the ability to organize, analyze and interpret results, come forward with recommendations including presenting findings to senior personnel or in team meetings. Experience in primary immune cell cultures and functional assays as well as processing human and rodent tissues is required. Experience with flow cytometry as well as other laboratory techniques is an advantage. Working knowledge of immunology and/or pharmacology is a plus. The successful candidate will be collaborating extensively with other Research Associates and Scientists in a multidisciplinary team, while taking personal responsibility for the success of assigned tasks and projects.
