about the role
The main mission of the Mobile Core Network Architect is to ensure the design and implementation of innovative core network solutions that enhance the overall telecommunications infrastructure, driving the organization forward towards its vision of seamless connectivity and advanced network reliability.
Main activities
Design and develop technical solutions tailored to client projects, including High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD). Define the implementation roadmap for 4G and 5G core network solutions aligned with client needs. Contribute to the successful deployment of mobile core network solutions in lab, pre-production, and production environments, ensuring horizontal and vertical integration. Work within a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI-CD) environment. Define test scenarios, execute tests, and analyze collected traces in end-to-end (E2E) environments, including 5G, VoLTE, and IoT applications. Provide ongoing support for deployed solutions in production and address any related responsibilities.
Required Skills:
In-depth knowledge of mobile networks, encompassing protocols, architectures, and interworking capabilities. Mastery of LTE/5G architectures and engineering concepts. Practical experience with key mobile core network elements, including AMF/MME, SMF/SPGW-C, UPF/SPGW-U, and others. Understanding of 4G/5G RAN radio networks. Practical knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6 architectures, including IP routing, QoS, MPLS, and VPN technologies. Proficient with CI-CD integration and testing automation tools, such as GitLab. Familiarity with functional, performance, and E2E testing tools. Awareness of security measures and technologies pertinent to mobile core networks. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines. Experience with containerized mobile core network deployments in Telco cloud environments, such as Redhat OpenShift. Demonstrated rigor, curiosity, and attention to detail in technical tasks. Effective communication skills to translate client needs into technical requirements. Active participation in collaborative solution design. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit. A solid understanding of the importance of delivering high-quality products within established costs and timelines. A commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with technological advancements. Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
Education:
Graduate degree in Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 to 8 years of proven experience in telecommunications focused on mobile core networks.
The role requires work in shifts (24/7 operation)
The Mobile Core Network Team is in charge of the architecture, engineering, deployment and operation of the mobile core network. The team is providing support to multiple projects delivered to OB (IoT-A, IoT-N, …) and OW/OWI (M(V)NO CNaaS, OLB, …). It contributes also to answer to different RFPs (IRIS2, …).
