Job Summary:
The Medical Physics Advisor Application Support will advise and support the Application Support Team and customers within the assigned area of the latest most advanced medical physics Varian related knowledge to provide customers the highest level of training.Make sure they are confident in operating their Varian equipment in a safe and efficient way and maximize their satisfaction.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Define, in close cooperation with the Zone Manager Applications Support, the business and staffing needs (in the assigned area), to ensure that a safe and optimal medical physics support is provided to our customers with corporate guidelines and EMEIA rules on medical equipment safety
- Promote and maintain a high degree of medical physics knowledge among the local Application Support personnel, for them to serve customers in the most effective manner by permanently keeping informed regarding all operating characteristics, design factors, technical performance and developments of Varian’s products
- Perform remote and onsite customers trainings of Eclipse, IMRT/RA, SRT/SBRT, Brachytherapy and other/future medical physics related Varian product.
- 2nd level Support and assistance to Application Support physics and radiographers team on customer trainings.
- Can participate in the development of classroom and on-site training concepts and programs for customers and Varian employees, to ensure the most effective courses are delivered to optimize customers’ and employees’ knowledge on Varian’s products
- Cooperate with other departments within Varian to identify and address training needs on all current and new Varian physics products
- Support Sales & Marketing on medical physics for road shows, sale support and conferences
- Coordinate the allocation of Applications Support Physicist for testing of Varian products/prototypes and new applications systems as well as Customer Evaluation Testing activities.
- Identify Medical Physics support requirements within the assigned area and cooperate with the zone lead manager and other departments, to ensure Applications Support Physicist are hired, trained, developed, and motivated to meet their current job responsibilities and the company’s future growth plans
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Successfully completed degree in Medical Physics either master or Doctorate degree in medical physics.
- Minimum of 10 years professional experience in the radio-oncology field with radiotherapy equipment
- Minimum of 5 scientific articles published or conference presentations in an organization of national or international importance.
- Thorough understanding of customers of the assigned area and their requirements
- Excellent knowledge of training techniques and methodologies to train adults (hospital professionals)
- Expert knowledge of processes and methods used in Varian’s product areas.
- Expert knowledge of commissioning, QA and planning of IMRT/RA, SBRT/SRT, and Brachytherapy
- Minimum of 8 Linacs commissioned: expert knowledge of Commissioning
- Expert in Machine & patient QA
Other Requirements:
- French, Arabic and English language, written and spoken.
- Must be mature and tactful
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Willing to travel extensively
- Willing to work normal and non-normal hours as required to support the customers
- Ability to train, advice and counsel Applications Support Specialists in technical matters
- Ability to adapt and to integrate into, the customer’s technical/operational & safety environment Understanding of customer’s situation and related support needs
- Ability to design and deliver trainings and workshop according to Varian standard od excellence
- Excellent skills in applying VMS health & safety regulations to job holder’s work environment
