Job Description

APM Terminals plays an important role in enabling the global Maersk Ocean and Logistics network as well as serving other Shipping Lines, Beneficial Cargo Owners, Freight Forwarders, intermodal logistics providers and integrating with a wide variety of local port authorities, customs and government bodies across our global network of transshipment, import and export gateway terminals.
In support of the broader Maersk strategy, we are accelerating the transformation of our business from a portfolio of independently operated terminals into a safer, better, bigger global terminals operator

Key Responsibilities


  • Governance of existing global standards and processes.
  • Develop and Implement Processes: Define, document, and implement standardized global processes to improve operational efficiency and ensure consistency across regions.
  • Governance and development of global standards KPIs in alignment with the Global Process Framework.
  • Drive continuous improvement in terminal performance through supporting process Confirmation tools.
  • Help define, plan, and prioritize the pipeline of optimization initiatives within APMT Operations.
  • Collaborate with other functional process owners to create seamless end-to-end processes.
  • Support and participate in both Ad hoc improvement initiatives as well as long term strategic initiatives, as required in close coordination with Regional BPE’s, including Flow deployment and Centre of Expertise.
  • Actively participate in driving the digital agenda within Operations through participation in current initiatives, staying informed on developments within the industry and raising innovations with potential benefit to APMT.
  • Drive and support on Global Operation policy deployment, standard work, FPR and any reporting initiatives.
  • Support terminals in achieving sustainable business results through general problem solving and specific assistance on Policy deployment related targets to improve (TTIs), either on site or remote. Selecting, prioritizing, and participating in these functional improvement activities in close consultation and alignment with Regional BPE’s.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process performance, track operational metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, regional operations managers, and external partners to ensure alignment and achieve operational objectives.
  • Risk Management: Identify operational risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.

We are looking for:


  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management is typically required.
  • +7 years of experience within terminal operations Function (Planning and Execution).
  • Process design and solution mindset.
  • Holistic thinking – understanding the whole before individual details.
  • Strong ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to analyze data.
  • Advanced Lean Practitioner or LSS Greenbelt on Minimum.
  • Good stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive change.
  • Self-motivator, who is comfortable working remotely.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

  • Head of Operation in a Small terminal
  • Wow Lead in Global Function or terminals.
