Your Mission as an Instrumentation Technician As an Instrumentation Technician, your mission is to ensure the optimal performance of electrical and instrumentation equipment critical to our wastewater treatment operations. You will leverage your technical expertise to enhance system reliability, support plant operations, and contribute to environmental protection efforts.
You will be handling these duties and responsibilities as an Instrumentation Technician
• Operate process calibrators and controllers to configure, program, calibrate, and start up plant instrumentation and control systems.
• Inspect electrical equipment, electronic systems, and telemetry equipment for proper operation.
• Perform work at on-site areas and off-site monitoring stations using an Agency vehicle.
• Program, troubleshoot, and repair Variable Frequency Drives and other equipment.
• Install new equipment and parts, including conduit and wiring.
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on plant instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems; disassemble and replace worn or broken parts; realign equipment. • Estimate time, materials, and prioritize jobs as required for various tasks.
• Perform confined space entries to service equipment.
• Assist, communicate, and coordinate with Information Technology for troubleshooting process controls and with Operations to achieve proper process control efficiency. • Recommend upgrades for instrumentation and control systems, and order replacement parts for repairs as authorized.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records; complete reports and other documentation as required; enter and retrieve information electronically.
• Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, preventative maintenance, and asset management.
• Create, maintain, and verify instrumentation and electrical engineering drawings.
Qualifications and Skills that will allow you to thrive as an Instrumentation Technician
• Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical systems, electronic equipment, and instrumentation operation, including design, preparation, and review of plans and specifications for installation, maintenance, operation, testing, and repair of electrical and instrumentation equipment and processes used for wastewater treatment facility.
• Expertise in methods and procedures for instrumentation communications systems, including signaling, analog, digital, and fieldbus technologies used for a wastewater treatment facility.
• Proficiency in diagnosing complex electrical, electronic, electromechanical, and instrumentation malfunctions, and determining the necessary processes and equipment for repairs or replacements.
• Ability to perform complex duties related to the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and instrumentation equipment used in wastewater treatment operations.
• Skilled in diagnosing complex malfunctions in electrical, electronic, electromechanical, and instrumentation systems. • Capable of assisting in the training of new staff. • Full-time diploma or certification in electrical, electronic, or related fields.
• work experience in a similar role, particularly in Electrical and Instrumentation within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemicals Industries, with current relevant experience.
