Job Description

The “Power of Peacebuilding” campaign aims to counter negative stories and hate speech by showcasing the inspiring efforts of individuals and groups promoting peace and coexistence. 

About the Project


  • Search is implementing a four-year project called “Advancing Inclusive Peace and Security in the Levant and Yemen (IPS)”. The project aims to strengthen women and youth’s meaningful, enduring participation in advancing inclusive peace and security in the Levant and Yemen. To do this, the project aims to: 1) consolidate women's rights organizations’ (WROs) and youth-focused/youth-led organizations’ (YFOs/YLOs) strategic engagement and influence in municipal and national peace and reconciliation processes; 2) motivate key sub-national and national institutions to strengthen inclusive policies and standards facilitating inclusive youth and women’s participation in peace and security; and 3) promote shifts in social norms around women and youth’s meaningful inclusion in peace and security at all levels, including stronger alliances with men and boys.

Scope of Work


  • Lebanon has faced significant challenges in recent years, exacerbated by the latest war. These have led to growing divisions within and among communities, particularly between host and internally displaced persons (IDP) communities. Amidst these challenges, many positive peacebuilding and social cohesion initiatives have been undertaken by both host and IDP communities, especially youth and women. However, these stories often remain untold, overshadowed by a narrative of conflict and division.The “Power of Peacebuilding” campaign aims to counter negative stories and hate speech by showcasing the inspiring efforts of individuals and groups promoting peace and coexistence. The campaign will highlight youth- and women-led initiatives as key drivers of change and social cohesion.

Goals and Objectives of the Consultancy


  • Local peacebuilding is the cornerstone of legitimate and meaningful participation at all levels, but often goes unrecognized in official peace processes at the national and sub-national levels. To address this gap and kick off advocacy activities under objective 2, Search will build an evidence base for the effectiveness of women and youth’s leadership in grassroots peacebuilding.The primary objective of this assignment is to identify and collaborate with a media company to design, produce, and disseminate an impactful online campaign. The campaign will:
  • Showcase successful peacebuilding and social cohesion initiatives by both host and IDP communities in Lebanon during the latest war.
  • Focus on youth- and women-led interventions.
  • Counter negative narratives and hate speech with positive stories of collaboration and resilience.
  • Promote unity and mutual understanding among Lebanese communities.

Expected Contributions


  • The selected media company will be responsible for:
3.1 Content Creation
Develop a detailed creative strategy for the “Power of Peacebuilding” campaign.Produce high-quality multimedia content, including:6 Short videos (2-3 minutes each) showcasing peacebuilding initiatives. Videos  must be professionally scripted, filmed, and edited, using compelling storytelling techniques. Content should be emotionally engaging, culturally sensitive, and highlight real-life examples of peacebuilding. All videos should include subtitles in both Arabic and English to maximize accessibility.5 Infographics and visuals highlighting key achievements and impacts of the selected peacebuilding initiatives. Infographics must present data and insights in a clear, visually appealing manner. The design should be modern and tailored to resonate with Lebanese youth and diverse audiences. Focus should be on highlighting the positive impacts of peacebuilding initiatives.15 Social media posts and reels tailored for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.  Posts and reels should include dynamic visuals, animations, and succinct messaging.4 Testimonials from youth and women leaders (60 to 90 second videos). These testimonials should emphasize personal journeys and the broader impact of their initiatives on community cohesion.Ensure all content is:High-resolution and optimized for digital platforms.Creative, innovative, and aligned with the campaign’s goals.Inclusive and representative of Lebanon’s diverse communities.Free of any hate speech, inflammatory language, or divisive narratives.3.2 Dissemination Strategy
Develop a comprehensive online dissemination plan targeting diverse audiences.Allocate $5,000 of the budget specifically for social media boosting to amplify the campaign’s reach and engagement.Monitor and analyze campaign engagement and provide periodic updates on performance.3.3 Collaboration
Work closely with Search for Common Ground to identify peacebuilding initiatives and key stakeholders to feature.Engage with youth and women leaders to ensure authentic representation.Incorporate feedback and input from stakeholders into the final content.

Deliverables


  • The media company is expected to deliver the following:
  • 1) Campaign Strategy Document: Including objectives, target audience, key messages, tactics and proposed content plan.
  • 2) Multimedia Content:
  • Minimum of 6 short videos.
  • At least 5 infographics and visual assets.
  • A series of social media posts (minimum 15 posts).
  • A series of 4 testimonials from youth and women leaders.
  • 3) Dissemination Plan: Dissemination Plan: Detailed approach for online distribution, with a breakdown of the $5,000 budget for social media boosting and metrics for measuring success.
  • 4) Final Report: Summary of campaign performance, engagement metrics, and recommendations for future campaigns.

Timeline


  • The assignment is expected to be completed within 3 months from the date of contract signing. Key milestones include:
  • Week 1-2: Inception meeting and submission of campaign strategy.
  • Week 3-8: Content creation and stakeholder consultations.
  • Week 9-11: Campaign dissemination.
  • Week 12: Submission of final report.

Required Qualifications


  • The media company should demonstrate the following:
  • Proven experience in designing and executing impactful media campaigns, particularly in social cohesion or peacebuilding.
  • Expertise in producing high-quality multimedia content.
  • Strong understanding of the Lebanese context and sensitivities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English.
