DLOC Biosystems is an innovative biotechnology startup focused on developing next-generation Organ-on-Chip (OOC) technologies to revolutionize drug discovery and disease modeling. Our multidisciplinary team integrates biology and engineering to create physiologically relevant in vitro models that bridge the gap between traditional cell culture and human biology.
We seek a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher with expertise in cell biology and advanced cell culture techniques to contribute to developing and optimizing our OOC platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to design, implement, and validate complex in vitro models using 3D cell culture, microfluidic systems, and other advanced methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize 3D and advanced cell culture models for Organ-on-Chip applications.
- Establish and maintain primary and stem cell cultures, including co-culture systems.
-Troubleshoot and improve tissue viability, cellular differentiation, and functional readouts.
- Design and execute experiments to validate OOC models, assessing cellular responses, viability, and function.
- Collaborate with engineers to integrate cells into microfluidic platforms.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, troubleshoot technical challenges, and refine protocols.
- Document research findings, prepare scientific publications, and contribute to grant applications.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends in cell biology, tissue engineering, and OOC technology.
Required Qualifications
-PhD (or equivalent) in Cell Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in cell culture, with a preference for expertise in 3D culture, spheroids, organoids, or microfluidic-based systems.
- Strong background in cell-based assays, imaging techniques, and molecular biology methods.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment while collaborating effectively in a team setting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent scientific communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Organ-on-Chip models or microfluidic systems.
- Knowledge of extracellular matrix components, tissue engineering principles, and/or biomaterial integration.
- Familiarity with assay development and high-content imaging
- Previous industry or translational research experience.
Why Join Us?
- Opportunity to work at the forefront of Organ-on-Chip innovation and impact real-world biomedical applications.
- Collaborative and dynamic startup environment with room for professional growth.
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
