Prepare mechanical and technical drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, materials, and specifications for components, assemblies, and systems.
Create preliminary sketches and produce detailed mechanical designs and schematics.
Develop multiple design versions for review by mechanical engineers.
Incorporate details into mechanical plans using knowledge of fabrication techniques and industry standards.
Calculate the quantity and quality of materials, estimate material and labor costs, and determine project timelines.
Assist in preparing technical specifications for mechanical systems to meet project requirements.
Represent and assist engineers on-site to ensure that plans and specifications are correctly followed.
Work under the supervision of mechanical engineers or project managers.
Collaborate with engineers to ensure that mechanical designs align with project requirements.
Skills
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other relevant software).
10 years of experience in mechanical drafting.
Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a plus.
Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and patience in drafting work.
Technical drawing skills with the ability to interpret and develop mechanical designs.
