The Position

A healthier future. It’s what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love.  That’s what makes us Roche.

Our  Global Internship Programme in Innovation & Sustainability (#IP2TIS)  offers a unique opportunity for passionate individuals to gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry while making a positive impact on the world.

Are you ready to join a diverse, global network spanning 20+ countries, where bright minds collaborate to tackle real-world challenges in Innovation & Sustainability? Do you want to work on impactful projects, shape the future , and drive change from within?

The Opportunity

The political and economic crisis that began in 2019 and continues to affect Lebanon has had a profound impact on the nation's healthcare sector. Reimbursement bodies have faced significant challenges, including funding shortages, currency devaluation, and a growing demand for services. These issues have resulted in difficulties covering medical bills, as well as delays or reductions in healthcare reimbursements, leaving many citizens unable to access life-saving treatments due to affordability concerns.

This project offers a unique opportunity to help bridge gaps between the private and public sectors, ultimately improving patient access to treatment and healthcare outcomes.

As a Market Access and Health Policy Intern, you will conduct a comprehensive assessment of current market trends, particularly in light of ongoing changes and reforms within the healthcare system. You will identify challenges and opportunities, research successful international models, and develop evidence-based strategies and policies aimed at optimizing patient access to life-saving treatments and addressing reimbursement and affordability issues.

The project objectives of this internship will be:

  • Integration Framework: Develop a framework for integrating private insurance policies with public healthcare services.

  • Policy Management: Establish guidelines and protocols for managing insurance policies to ensure seamless coverage and minimize administrative burdens.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster collaboration between private insurers, public health agencies, and healthcare providers.

  • Patient-Centric Approach: Focus on improving patient outcomes and satisfaction by ensuring access to necessary treatments without financial or procedural hurdles.

Throughout the internship, you will collaborate with key stakeholders in the healthcare system—including public health agencies, private insurance companies, and patient advocacy groups—while gaining valuable hands-on experience in the Lebanese healthcare market. Most importantly, you will witness firsthand the real-world impact of healthcare policy on shaping outcomes.

Who You Are

You are enrolled or have completed your Master’s studies at a university, preferably in the field of healthcare management, health policy, public health or health economics within the last 12 months and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months and getting to know the pharmaceutical industry.

Furthermore you are

A passionate change-maker eager to tackle real-world challenges with:

  • Collaborative mindset: ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of healthcare systems: Familiarity with both public and private healthcare structures and understanding of the dynamics of healthcare reimbursement systems

  • Problem solving and critical thinking: capability to approach complex health policy issues with creative and effective solutions

If you meet most but not all qualifications, we still encourage you to apply.

Technical details:

The start date for the internship is between mid of June until 1st of July 2025.
