Community Mobilizer (4 positions)
DRC has been responding to various humanitarian crises in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian refugees. DRC received registration from the Ministry of Interior in 2011, and since then has focused primarily on responding to the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon and the resulting impact on Lebanese host community. DRC Lebanon’s focus is to ensure that we are able to respond to critical emerging humanitarian needs whilst improve the living conditions of displacement-affected populations and contribute to the achievement of durable solutions. With an annual portfolio of $12million, and with approximately 200+ staff, DRC is focusing its response in protection and economic recovery (Ec-Rec) sector in Bekaa, North Lebanon and Beirut. DRC is also contributing to the evidence base and coordination structures in country through our Evidence Generation and referral information management (RIMs) teams.
About the job
DRC is seeking the expertise of 4 community mobilizers within Zgharta, Beddaoui, Der Amar, in Tripoli and Sahel and Jurd Akkar areas. The Community Mobilizers should have strong communication skills, act as duty bearers, ECHO the voices of their communities and advocate for their needs. Selected mobilizers will be asked to support DRC’s protection team in monitoring the protection environment in assigned areas and reporting back in a timely manner. The community mobilizers will be asked to conduct Key Informant Interviews and Focus group discussion along with other tools if deem necessary for evidence generation purposes. Necessary trainings will be provided upon selection. Since selected Mobilisers are expected to lead the change, they would like to see in their communities, DRC Protection team will prepare them to become a hub of information in their respective communities. Accordingly, Community Mobilisers would be trained on various Community Based and non-structured PSS Curricula along with needed interpersonal skills to deliver this package to Caregivers and overall, at risk individuals within assigned areas in northern areas.
This program is designed to enhance community engagement, monitor the protection environment to promote evidence-based programming and ensure community-based PSS component is embedded within the targeted communities.
Throughout the process, Mobilisers would also be expected to identify and refer individuals at heightened protections risks to specialized protection services according to their needs.
Mobilisers should reflect the need of their communities with utmost efficiency and proficiency possible, maintain a good relationship with targeted communities and support DRC team with information dissemination upon needs.
This intervention aims at enhancing resilience of most vulnerable communities within Akkar, Tripoli and the 5 Cadasters
Responsibilities:
Implement a set number of Key Informant Interviews and Focus group discussion as agreed upon with the Management team. Reflect needs at field level immediately and with utmost efficiency possible and highlight on contextual changes in a timely manner. Ensure full participation and dedication in the preparatory trainings to be delivered by DRC team Brainstorm on potential gaps and challenges in knowledge transfer process at field level Establish and maintain good relationship with targeted communities and identify community focal points to ensure proper coverage of targeted area Reflect on the protection environment within their respective communities and share situational updates in a timely manner. Identify and outreach vulnerable profiles within their communities to participate in CBPSS. Implement CBPSS with individuals at risk especially caregivers according to their needs. Coordinate Smoothly with different stakeholders within the team including, Team Leder, Manager, and Meal colleagues. Follow up on feedback provided by the supervising team through on the job coaching and take necessary measures to reflect it throughout activity implementation Identify and refer persons with protection or other needs to appropriate services in line with safe identification and referral and DO NO HARM principles; Disseminate updated Service mapping and referral pathways and provided dedicated awareness sessions if deemed necessary at community level; Report on new services/ actors in their area if applicable Support DRC protection team in validating findings from other programs if possible. highlight on emerging protection needs in a timely manner. Adhere to DRC rules and regulations and Code of Conduct at all times.

Good knowledge of the area and overall context, Great communicator Understand protection and do no harm principles; Good team spirit and communication skills Experienced in diversity inclusion and gender mainstreaming in various settings is an added value Work well under pressure Understand protection monitoring and familiar with Quantitative and Qualitative methodologies. Good facilitation and sensitization skills, good understanding of key protection issues in Lebanon; Understand psychological first aid and ready to support upon needs is an added value Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility;
