Reporting directly to the LevNA Managing Director, the Business Unit Director for LevNA (Levant & North Africa) will be responsible for oversight and leadership of all of the 8 Markets (Algeria, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia & Syria) activities, providing the opportunity to operate in both public and private archetypes. The portfolio comprises strategic growth drivers and key contributor product mix within the cluster: Vaccines, Hospital Acute Care, New product launches and Diabetes.


Responsibilities include build-out and market planning to ensure that commercial/marketing strategy, tactics and infrastructure are in place to successfully achieve new inclusions, increased access, new product/indications launch, operating plans and critical milestones. In addition, this leader will appropriately communicate value, drive access and support patient care. This business leader has full P&L responsibility.


This leader will also manage and interact with regional and local project teams.  As a senior member of the leadership team, he/she will drive Oncology transformation and actively engage his/her organization and beyond.


Ongoing talent development and motivation of the team and aligning them to our core values will integral in this role.


This role will provide overall business directions and leadership in a product franchise based on the goals. 


Roles and Responsibilities


Provide overall business strategy and direction for the product franchise


  • Accountabilities for P&L
  • Delivery of committed targets for the franchises
  • Analyzing business opportunities present in the markets for the product franchise, capitalizing these opportunities to grow the franchises
  • Getting involved in the formulation of the BU’s long-range and integrated operations planning
  • Setting broad directions for external affairs, marketing programs and salesforce implementation of these programs

Ensure optimum allocation and utilization of resources          


  • Monitoring the product franchise’s expenditures versus budget; approves planned franchise expenses
  • Analyzing sales and market share data at the franchise unit level to develop plans that will maximize sales
  • Making recommendations for adequate resourcing of programs and core initiatives
  • Ensuring return on investment

Improve and align the performance of individuals and teams


  • Conducting regular performance discussions with direct reports and ensures this happens in all levels
  • Holding regular business review meetings with the team
  • Communicating organizational goals, objectives and policies to the members of the team
  • Ensuring the success implementation of career planning and development at business unit level
  • Ensuring team synergy and motivation within the business unit
  • Working with Business Effectiveness team to build functional competencies of team, identification and delivery of training and development requirements; ensures successful transfer and application of newly learned skills at the workplace
  • Ensuring optimal hiring standards are maintained in the recruitment of all members
  • Drive the company policies and standards within the franchise and business unit and meets appropriate corrective measures where necessary

Drive the implementation of market, product and service strategy


  • Ensuring alignment of all field force promotional activities with marketing strategies
  • Monitoring the high-level implementation and effectiveness of promotional activities
  • Ensuring that marketing programs are responsive to customer needs and the changing market landscape
  • Tailoring implementation of programs to seize identified opportunities and to address needs

Lead the development of marketing strategies for the franchise


  • Analyzing the marketplace and identifying opportunities and potential for the franchise
  • Using the data to develop broad marketing directions and strategies for the franchise and for the different products
  • Acquiring the necessary resources to implement these strategies
  • Leading digital marketing & consumer activation for the franchise

Education:


  • Bachelors degree required, advanced degree preferred with emphasis in Life Science, Business or Economics.

Experience:


  • At least 10 -15 Years in the overall pharmaceutical industry, at least 5-7 years Sales & Marketing & Commercial experience in pharmaceutical/ healthcare industry, vaccines experience preferred.
  • Ideally, significant commercial launch experience and life cycle management.
  • Experience in negotiation of drug approval process, with strong pricing and market access knowledge.
  • Strong strategic mindset and result driven
  • Strong people management, talent development & planning skills
  • Growth Mindset and positive attitude
  • Strong customer focus, team and relationship building skills
  • Digital Marketing & Consumer activation experience is preferable
