Job Description
Full-time 16 periods of Student Life/Wellbeing work and 8 periods of teaching or managing a counseling caseload in lieu of teaching
Responsibilities:
•Work collaboratively with the members of the Senior Leadership of the school to achieve the strategic objectives of the school and the Foundation
•Oversee the wellbeing needs of all students in the Secondary School (Years 7-13)
•Facilitate wellbeing initiatives/days/afternoon activities with a focus on mental health and healthy lifestyle, such as sessions on healthy relationships, and substance abuse awareness, digital safety, identity and belonging, nutrition and physical health, etc.
•Lead the development, monitoring and assessment of the school's "mentor programme" --a pastoral programme implemented by the Heads of Year through mentor group leaders across the Secondary school
•Coordinate the schoolwide approach to behaviour management and discipline
•Liaise with parents, staff and students with regard to behavioural and disciplinary issues. Deal and follow-up with major discipline issues
•Assist the Principal in all matters pertaining to safeguarding and child protection
•Develop, maintain, and manage an effective multi-tiered system of support ensuring that all students are supported with clear behaviour and wellbeing management protocols
•Organize training and professional development for staff in order to ensure a consistent approach to behaviour management and student wellbeing issues.
•Work in close collaboration with all student support services (Medical, Psychological, Learning and Extended Support services) to provide a strong and efficient system of support for all our students
•Manage Heads of Year and School Psychologist (for secondary matters only)
