Workshop Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Workshop Manager to oversee and optimize workshop operations within our trading and manufacturing environment. This role requires strong technical expertise in equipment maintenance, structural fabrication, and industrial processes, as well as the ability to lead a team efficiently. The Workshop Manager will ensure compliance with industry standards such as ASME, ISO 9000, and ANSI, while driving productivity, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily workshop operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and compliance with industry regulations.
• Manage fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of pressure vessels, structural steel components, and related equipment.
• Ensure adherence to ASME, ISO 9000, and other relevant standards in all workshop processes.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for workshop equipment and machinery.
• Lead and train a team of technicians and support staff, ensuring proper skill development.
• Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to align workshop activities with design requirements and project timelines.
• Conduct quality inspections, audits, and safety checks to maintain high operational standards.
• Monitor inventory levels, procurement processes, and liaise with suppliers for timely material availability.
• Analyze workshop performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Manage budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation for the workshop.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions for complex mechanical and fabrication challenges.

Preferred Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in workshop management within trading, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
• Strong knowledge of pressure vessels, structural steel fabrication, and industrial equipment maintenance.
• Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, and ISO 9000 standards and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in workshop management software, ERP/MRP systems, and technical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PV Elite).
