Basic Scope of Job
The role holder is responsible for managing the complete supply chain process for our Client – Entity including gathering specifications, identifying the suppliers, and monitoring them based on the contractual terms. The role holder also works with third-party vendors to resolve delays in the procurement channels. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Responsibilities
- Provides management information and insights on all dimensions of business performance to facilitate discussion and decision making, both on a periodic basis and for ad-hoc management requests.
- Provides inputs and supports the preparation of the annual budget for own department, tracks expenditure and ensures adherence to the budget.
- Supports the development of the workforce plan for own department by providing inputs based on workload analysis and forecasting trends.
- Assists in the implementation of Client's vision, mission and cultural values across all employee groups in the department.
- Implements and monitors approved department policies, procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality, cost-effective services.
Core Responsibilities
Logistics:
- Coordinate and manage the annual stock count activities to ensure accuracy and accountability of inventory.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Gulf Supply Chain logistics team, coordinating various services related to Kuwait operations.
- Review and validate invoices related to supply chain activities, including freight, clearance, and duties, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee warehousing activities, including both inbound and outbound operations, to maintain high standards of due diligence.
- Optimize warehouse space utilization to improve efficiency and storage capacity.
- Regularly review and update Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) practices within the warehouse to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
Purchasing:
- Manage the procurement of spare parts to ensure timely availability and optimal inventory levels.
- Oversee fleet management including renewal, cancellation and addition to maintain efficient and cost-effective transportation operations.
- Administer and manage subcontracting contracts to ensure compliance and alignment with business needs.
- Handle Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) procurement to support continuous operational efficiency.
- Source new vendors both locally and overseas as needed to secure essential services and products for the business.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality service, timely deliveries, and favourable terms.
- Develop and implement saving initiatives across different supply chain categories, regularly tracking progress to meet annual savings targets.
Facilities management:
- Oversee facilities management, ensuring all equipment functions properly and addressing any faults or issues promptly.
- Maintain and uphold housekeeping standards across all facilities, reporting any deficiencies or issues.
- Monitor and ensure outsourced contractors' work complies with quality and performance standards.
- Manage the negotiation and renewal of leases, as well as the establishment of new lease agreements, to align with business needs
People Management.
- Supports the development of a continuous talent pipeline for key roles in own department and provides mentoring for high potential talent in the team.
- Organizes and supervises the activities of team members in a manner that supports self-management and continuous improvement.
Provides coaching, and formal and informal feedback to team members in order to support their continuous development.
Skills
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business management/administration or equivalent
Professional Certifications
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM)/ Certified International Procurement Professional (CIPP) or equivalent preferred
Years of Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in supply chain management including experience handling external suppliers/vendors in a multinational organization
Nature of Experience
- At least 5 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities
Language Skills
- Fluent written and spoken English essential, Arabic preferred
