Job title: Student Engagement Coordinator
Department: Office of Student Engagement
Reports to: Director of Student Engagement
Job Purpose:
The Student Engagement Coordinator will support the Director of Student Engagement in enhancing student involvement and university spirit through the effective coordination and execution of student events, workshops, and activities. This role is crucial for fostering a vibrant campus atmosphere and supporting student peer programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute a variety of student events, workshops, and activities designed to increase student engagement and foster a sense of community within the university.
- Work collaboratively with student peer support programs to enhance their reach and effectiveness, ensuring they contribute positively to student life.
- Host campus-wide events that bring together diverse segments of the university community, promoting inclusivity and school spirit.
- Ensure all events and activities align with the university’s mission and values and contribute to the overarching goals of the Student Engagement department.
- Collaborate with other departments to leverage resources and maximize the impact of engagement initiatives.
Skills Required:
- Strong organizational and planning skills to effectively manage multiple events and projects.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic and capable of engaging effectively with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work creatively and flexibly, often outside of conventional office hours, to meet the needs of the university community.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and dynamic environment conducive to student engagement.
- Competence in managing budgets and resources efficiently.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Event Management, Education, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in student affairs, event planning, or a related area within an educational or professional setting.
Reporting Positions:
- May supervise student volunteers and part-time staff involved in specific engagement activities.
