Job Description

About the Role

* The Pace Senior Electrical Engineer will be instrumental in the design of electrical systems as per client requirements, considering health and safety regulations. The incumbent will handle multiple electrical design projects simultaneously working closely with Pace leaders, client representatives, and managing subordinates to execute electrical designs and peers in a cross-functional work environment.


What you will be doing

* Assist on site electrical engineers by responding to technical queries and assist site staff in verifying sample materials submitted by contractors, if any.
* Assist the Associate Director and Lead Engineer in the evaluation of proposals submitted by sub-consultants during RFP issued by PACE and recommend sub-consultants to owners/clients.
* Assist in conducting site surveys (as and when required) in order to investigate the layout of existing electrical systems prior to design and coordinate with local ministries as required.
* Check the existing site electrical utilities, telephone etc. for tie-in/connections to minimize the design, if needed.
* Consider feedback from Resident Engineer and Senior Engineer on project and consult clients on design clarification and modification during the design development.
* Coordinate effectively with other disciplines throughout project lifecycle. Review drawings and specifications ensuring adequate provisions in electrical designs are made based on the designs provided by the other sections.
* Coordinate with team members effectively to ensure that all projects progress as planned in order not to cause project delays or budget over runs; ensure to update the Associate Director and Lead Engineer with regards to progress in design.
* Develop a thorough understanding of client design requirements, Contract, Terms of Reference (TOR) , Request for Proposal(RFP) etc. prior to the commencement of any design project.
* Document, record and report on meetings, progress of jobs and construction completion from design & validation reports received from the project manager.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and latest standards, applicable codes and regulations; assist the Associate Director and Lead Engineer in establishing/updating section policies and procedures. Utilize the latest engineering software.
* Ensure preparation of accurate design calculations and documents for submission and approval from concerned ministries (e.g. MEW, MOC, KFF and KNPC etc.) related to electrical, fire alarm, telephone, etc.
* Ensure that electronic components and materials specified for electrical designs are relevant and comply with statutory requirements and ensure that the specifications document is updated to reflect any changing statutory requirements.
* Ensure the bill of quantity (BoQ) document for the electric design is prepared and coordinated with quantity survey department in compiling contract documents (e.g., specifications, cost estimates etc.).
* Evaluate or prepare electrical load calculation requirements based on the power consumption of all electro-mechanical systems (e.g., lighting, power, equipment and all other services & systems, security systems, elevators etc.) to be installed installed.
* Meet manufactures/suppliers of electrical components and materials (as and when required) in order to develop understanding of material technical specifications.
* Maintain continuous quality control on all drawings produced under the section, ensuring that they adhere to PACE quality, CAD standards, and Revit BIM requirements.
* Prepare data collection report, concept design report, preliminary and detailed design reports & related documents.
* Prepare design sketches for modelers/draftsmen to prepare design drawing, allocate, prioritize and check the work
