Job Description

The Senior Marine Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of various marine systems and equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The Senior Marine Technician will ensure that all work complies with industry standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostics and Repairs:
  • Perform advanced diagnostics on monitoring and control system of marine engines, on board diesel gensets ,marine gears, electrical systems, fire alarm system and other onboard equipment.
  • Repair and replace faulty components to restore functionality.
  • Perform Overhaul Diesel Engines.
  • Maintenance:
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on Diesel engines, gear box and control system of marine vessels, ensuring all systems operate efficiently.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Ensure proper setup and configuration of equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspections:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of marine vessels to ensure safety and regulatory standards compliance.
  • Document inspection findings and recommend corrective actions.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and installations performed.
  • Prepare reports and update logs to track the status of ongoing projects and tasks.
  • Customer Service:
  • Interact with clients to explain repairs, provide estimates, and offer technical advice.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and providing timely solutions.


Qualifications:

  • High School, Technical Institute diploma or equivalent; technical certification in marine technology or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum (5 – 10) years of experience in marine maintenance and repair.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing marine engines (MTU, CAT, Cummins, Volvo, Baudouin ….…….), electrical systems
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Driving license preferred
