Job Description
We are seeking a QA/QC Lead Engineer to oversee and manage the QA/QC functions in our heavy steel fabrication facility. The key roles includes looking after the QA and MR activities, including developing, monitoring and maintaining IMS requirements to meet ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and API Q1. Candidate should have experience in handling external audits of ISO Certification agencies, API and ASME audits, developing documentations, performing audits, and doing MR activities including MRM.
Responsibilities
- Capable of interpreting various codes & standards; developing WPS, PQR and performing WQT.
- Capable of interpreting the codes and standard requirement and performing inspection and testing of raw material and handling client inspectors
- Ensuring the production performance meeting design acceptance criteria and requirements specified by the codes standards or other requirements as needed.
- Coordinate quality control matters with clients and third-party inspection agencies.
- Maintain and enforce company quality standards in line with the ISO 9001 and ASME requirements.
- Prepare Inspection Test Plans (ITP) as per project and client requirements.
- Ensuring the QA/QC requirements are fulfilled on a regular basis
- Coordinate and review Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) reports, procedures and personnel qualifications in coordination with NDE Level
- Supervise reporting, recording, and inspection activities.
- Ensure meeting the QA/QC requirements in a cost effective manner.
- Capable of developing procedures and systems for in-house calibration of equipment.
- Coordinate with clients/customers for final inspections and approvals.
Preferred Candidate
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy steel fabrication.
- Certifications:
- Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or Certified Welding Instructor (CWI).
- Equivalent certification from AWS and/or ASME.
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
- API Q1 Lead Auditor/ or Practitioner Certification
- Industry Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of ASME VIII Div 1 & 2, IX,V, II - A,B,C,D , API Q1, ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and capable of interpreting standards.
- Experience in pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
