Job Description

Department: Materials & Procurement

 

Job Summary: Manage all aspects of procurement. Implement systems for effective and accurate forecasting, inventory and replenishment at all levels. Manage supply arrangements, interacting strongly with Logistics, specific support services and local & international suppliers. Monitor performance of department, develop budgets and ensure timely and accurate information flows within and outside the Business. Achieve set business objectives whilst supporting Project Management and Store Operations. Source/buy, range & price all equipment & products.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Ensure delivery of Business plan

·        Develop, challenge and train the team in one’s own area of expertise to deliver the Business Plan.

·        Coordinate Business critical information, make recommendations, communicate and facilitate solutions i.e. consolidations, Logistics etc.

·        Provide functional expertise and execute functional responsibilities such as sourcing specialty products and excessive training to team ensuring they stay current with industry standards.

·        Manage business strategies and activities from development to implementation to achieve business objectives.

·        Liaises with key personnel from various departments to determine & assess their requirement & service needs.

·        Monitor business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times.

·        Identifies and researches potential new suppliers.

·        Researches new products and services to meet company's business goals.

·        Conduct business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost down and improvement opportunities.

 

Ensure range and category management

·        Be the key source of product knowledge and information.

·        Inventory management.

·        Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain best price whilst ensuring profit target.

·        Identify key suppliers and develop a mutually beneficial business relationship with each.

·        Recommend inventory levels and complementary replenishment policies.

·        Set and maintain agreed stock targets and re-order levels in conjunction with the Business, ensure that stocking policies result in a replenishment process that consistently delivers required volumes on-time and in-full, within date sensitive tolerances, via distribution chain.

 

Control and develop effectiveness of team to meet business requirements

·        Develop the capabilities of the team through direction, coaching, clear objectives and performance standards, providing feedback and managing individual development plans.

·        Deliver/share specialist knowledge with team.

·        Review current processes for procurement and make recommendations where appropriate.

·        Provide periodic reporting for management on purchasing, controls and processes.

·        Teach and educate managers and associates about the procurement process control.

·        Identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results.

·        Implement change and develop new processes to better procure goods and services.

·        Provide training to new hires on the team on procurement processes and systems.

 

 

 

 

 

Manage the supply/category interface

 

·        Work in partnership with the Procurement team to deliver the best processes and services, and meet the agreed key performance indicators.

·        Develop key relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business.

·        Perform all procurement and contracting activities including pre-qualification, tender management, negotiation and preparation of contracts.

 

Actively seek and communicate local market intelligence:

 

·        Track and advice on all changes in suppliers and Competitors Policies.

·        Ensure collation of appropriate market data covering product and market intelligence.

·        Identify trends and new business opportunities and apply in line with customers’ expectations.

·        Maintain up to date competitor and global business trends knowledge.

·        Carry out regular market studies.

·        Attending Trade Shows, Conferences, and Meetings to say up to date with latest products, market conditions & emerging trends.

 

Manage pricing strategy:

·        Perform all procurement and contracting activities including pre-qualification, tender management, negotiation and preparation of contracts.

·        Identify cost reduction opportunities to achieve financial goals


  • Your responsibilities as Procurement Manager encompass the management of a procurement team, where you will guide supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management, all while fostering strong supplier relationships to attain the organization's procurement objectives.
