Job Description
Role
The Technician (Mechanical) will be reporting directly to the Field Engineer (Mechanical) or to the Maintenance Manager in the absence of Field Engineer. The position includes, but not limits to, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment of Ultrafiltration (UF)/ reverse osmosis (RO) plant. In this role. You will be also trouble shoot on mechanical problems and perform maintenance, repair or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Experience in the maintenance of Ultrafiltration (UF) and Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems.
- Proven experience in leading a large team of technical and non-technical personnel for Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Ultrafiltration (UF) membrane replacements, as well as other large-scale maintenance and operational projects.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and overhauling centrifugal pumps, including Flowserve, Sulzer, and Grundfos models.
- Hands-on experience in overhauling dosing pumps, specifically Milton Roy and Grundfos.
- Skilled in using SAP maintenance software for asset management and workflow optimization.
- Experienced in creating permits and conducting risk assessments to ensure workplace safety.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.
- Expertise in the maintenance of blowers and air compressors.
- Knowledgeable in the overhauling of disc filters.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions and operational defects, performing necessary repairs on equipment such as pumps, blowers, compressors, valves, mixers, and gearboxes.
- Assist in plant modification work under the guidance of the discipline lead.
- Replace and install specified components, making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to enhance equipment reliability and longevity.
- Ensure equipment operates correctly and perform emergency repairs as needed.
- Carry out repairs and installations of PVC lines and related spare parts.
- Be available for on-call duties and shift work if required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.
- Support the optimization and development of operational quality system procedures, guidelines, and documentation for water treatment processes.
- Ensure team compliance with EHS and quality processes, identify potential hazards, and report violations of company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments to maintain proper housekeeping of plant facilities.
- Work independently while maintaining regular communication and reporting to supervisors.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Trade certificate/ITI.
- At least 3 years for Diploma or 8 years for Trade/ITI certificate holder work experience in rotary equipment for water treatment /chemical/Oil refineries/power plants/RO plants.
- Experience in the rotary equipment like pumps, compressors, blowers, chemical transfer /dosing pumps overhauls & its spares replacement including alignment works.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to work on prioritized & emergency needs of the plant maintenance.
Ability to establish and maintain relationship with co-workers & supervisors.
