Manufacturing Accountant Finance Manufacturing Accountant Role Summary / Purpose
The Manufacturing Accountant will manage and oversee accounting functions related to manufacturing, inventory management, financial reporting, and intercompany transactions. This role will focus on cost accounting, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting internal controls, audits, and regulatory compliance for manufacturing operations.

Essential Responsibilities



Cost Accounting & Analysis:
Perform detailed cost accounting for production activities, including the allocation of direct and indirect costs (materials, labor, overhead) to ensure accurate product costing.
Review and analyze inventory costs for raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods, ensuring alignment with actual production activities.
Prepare cost variance reports to assist in decision-making and evaluate production efficiency.
Inventory & Production Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records across production facilities, ensuring stock levels and costs are updated and reconciled with production outputs.
Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to monitor inventory movement and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
Intercompany Transactions & Reporting:
Manage intercompany cost allocations and invoicing, to ensure compliance with intercompany agreements and international accounting policies.
Create and process monthly intercompany invoicing across subsidiaries.
Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and adjustments related to manufacturing costs.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Support the preparation of financial statements and business performance reports across multiple business units ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
Assist with the preparation of balance sheet schedules and quarterly reconciliations.
Maintain compliance with statutory reporting requirements and support external audits.
Fixed Asset & Depreciation Management:
Oversee the fixed asset process, ensuring proper tracking of asset movements, asset register maintenance, and accurate depreciation accounting.
Prepare and manage monthly amortization schedules for prepayments and ensure timely monthly depreciation runs.
General Ledger & Account Reconciliation:
Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers monthly, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and assist with variances between the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
Allocate shared costs among various business units, ensuring alignment with company policies.
Audit Support & Internal Controls:
Assist with audit preparation and support statutory audits by providing necessary documentation and financial schedules.
Ensure robust internal controls to maintain accuracy and compliance across financial operations.

Qualifications / Requirements



Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or similar certification preferred
5 years of accounting experience in manufacturing or cost accounting roles.
Experience with intercompany accounting, fixed assets, inventory management, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software Odoo, 365 Dynamics, and Microsoft Office.
Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory costing, and financial analysis.
